If we can move SImmonds, Elliott and Raffl and walk away with 3 picks, 2nd, 3rd and 4th, and a young depth prospect (and maybe some AHL bodies to replace the callups), I'm very happy.

Come June, you can get solid players with packages of 2nd and 3rd rd picks, and sweeten deals with middle round picks.

Combine that with short-term cap room and we can obtain a solid veteran or two who are overpaid at the end of a deal (not a Lehtera, more a Filppula a year or two before we got him) to bridge the roster to the kids. LHV will be loaded next year, but as we've seen, you can't depend on prospects to carry you as rookies if they're not uber-talents. So in the short-run, upgrading Varone, Hagg, MacDonald, etc. with better veterans would have value while the kids marinate.
