Can't remember if I've cared this little about the NHL season starting. Wake me up in April.

It's really hard to judge these guys all things considered but I'm pretty happy with Shalagin after 1 game. I think this is a positive sign for what's to come in Syracuse. Some good stuff from fellow '19 draft picks Cajkovic and Schmiemann too.

I'm really high on our '19 draft class. I know I've said it a bunch of times but I'll look at the import picks and saw Cajkovic go #1 and just as much assumed we weren't gonna get him because he'd be stuck on a crappy Sea Dogs team but still go somewhere like mid 2nd round because he's talented as can be. We friggin got him. Shalagin is a beauty. Those feet make Taylor Raddysh look like Paul Coffey but that's what the AHL is for and the kid has a really good attitude. And of course, there's Nolan Foote. He's as boring as a prospect gets in terms of tantalizing upside but like Cal, we of course drafted him because he's probably the safest bet of any prospect to reach his potential.

I'm excited to see where these guys are gonna be in 2 years

We must just like getting a look at kids in different situations. Can't be overly competitive or we'd never have pulled Foote.

You don't want to over do it either. No need for ABB or Foote to play 3 games in 4 days when it's September 8th. Especially since those 2 guys are the most likely to challenge for a spot on the big club out of the prospects here.

Quick feet on Donaghey
Cody Donaghey has 24 goals in 118 ECHL games as a defenseman. He's not bad.

It's not official, but I've got to figure that Donny is going to Crunch camp at least. He's only 23-years old.

Sosunov had Suzuki behind him, but got back and turned around. Skating not the biggest issue for him.

3rd penalty of the game for Spencer. He hasn't really done anything to prove he belongs to stay in the AHL.

Otto Somppi is underappreciated through these two games.

Matt Spencer can have undisciplined stretches in the ECHL as well.

Winnipeg and Montreal picking up right around the time TB finishes. Facebook should work without restriction.

Ross Colton draws a pp for the Bolts. He's had a good game today. 2pts so far and set the tone early in the 2nd period for the baby bolts to get going.
