Looks like all the hand wringing about his NHL stint hurting his confidence and de-railing his development turned out to be hogwash. Good for Mikey. Love that kid. He’s gonna be a BEAST for us.
The nonsense about his one game with the Canucks Ruining his confidence/ development was absurd. Kid is a fighter. That being said, being an undersized goalie prospect he is still a long shot to be an NHL reg

The odds are against Dubuque to defeat the USHL #1 team Muskegon in this best of 5 series, however an awesome performance in Game 3.

Thiessen looks like a project which is to be expected from a 7th round pick. He's putting up middle of the pack starting goalie numbers and there are more than a few guys his age doing better than he is but with goalies you never know how things will go in the long run. The guys above him could fall off just as easily as he could catch fire and tear his way into an NHL contract.

There's a chance they ink Karlsson...as for the rest, basically forget it. I suppose Utenen is a remote possibility....but can't see an undersized d-men without much offense, surviving on the small NA ice....they'll pass probably.

Wasn't Gunnarsson supposed to have a June 1, 2019 signing deadline?

Not that his signing is all that desirable. His numbers have been worse than dreadful.

If Dahlens return turns into nothing it’s really really unfortunate, feels like Cody Hodgson - Zack Kassian - Brendan Prust - nothin

Said it before....there was a reason Ottawa traded Dahlen for an aging winger like Burrows who was clearly on the back-side of the mountain. Obviously the Sens weren't sold on Dahlen's NHL potential either. And he's now on his third NHL organization and not doing much with San Jose's AHL affiliate.

So if Karlsson doesn't pan out, it's not that big a deal. The fact they got anything for Burrows was a minor miracle.

Dahlen was worth a shot IMO - he produced at a high level and (seemed like) he could play in traffic. Obviously there's always a chance a guy can bust but sometimes it happens and there's really no one to blame.

Gunnarsson has problems getting regular minutes in the SHL. There's no way he gets signed.

For those that are curious - there is still one Canucks prospect playing hockey - and that is Michael DiPietro. Ottawa faces off against Guelph in the OHL Finals beginning Thu May 2.

If Ottawa wins the series, they will be off to the Memorial Cup in Halifax starting May 17.

Any chance Matt Brassard is signed before June 1st ?

What about Gunnarsson?

EDIT; OK just saw it. Brassard will not.
Brassard and Gunnarson are done as Canuck prospects, but curious about Mitch Eliot....had a nice season with Sarnia Sting, who were one of the worst teams in the OHL's Western Conference.....17 goals and 55 pointa isn't too bad, although he's an over-ager who just turned 21 in February.

What are his strengths? Can he make Utica next year?

Out of the free-agent defensemen the Canucks signed (Eliot, Teves, Rafferty), I'd say Eliot has the best shot of making it in the long run, going strictly by stats. Rafferty is more than two years older and probably ahead of him in his development right now, so he might have a better chance of contributing in Utica in the coming season.

Dipietro is 3 wins away from going to Mem Cup again
His outlook as a pro goalie might be questioned, but surely if goes back to the Memorial Cup and actually wins it with Ottawa, he might go out as one of the most decorated goalies in the history of the OHL.

Dipietro is basically on the verge of winning everything in junior, only thing missing is a Gold medal from WJC.
