I fell asleep with Dodgers cruising up 3-0

WTF happened?

Dodgers fell asleep up 3-0 as well.

I see Clayton Kershaw choked again now

That explains how it all went wrong

Rendon's homer was a good pitch. That's just Kershaw playoff voodoo and Rendon went down and got it. The Soto pitch was destroyed though.

Really though it's more of a Dave Roberts problem. 7 outs to go and you have your entire bullpen available on full rest... why are you bringing in a starter? Why are you pitching Kelly more than one inning? Bellinger on 2nd in the bottom of the 7th with no outs and you can't bring him home. That's just a myriad of bad decisions.

Its fitting as hell that the Nats win a series once they are deemed a non playoff team for much of the year. Kinda like the Caps won the Cup after they ceased being seen as a major contender.

Lesson: Pressure + failure under pressure lead to more pressure until you just let it go and concede.

This is after probably over-managing with the pitching changes in game 4. He seems to do this every year, over-managing for good portions of the series and then just seems to abandon things to fate in the critical moments.

Just saw this:

Kershaw has allowed 10 HRs in potential elemination games. Not only is that the most in postseason history, it's 2x as much as any other pitcher has allowed when his team's facing elimination

Yeah it’s very weird. His overall playoffs numbers aren’t terrible. Obviously compared to his reg season they are but like 4.40 era and 1.11 WHIP are fine. It’s just the anti-clutch ness of when he gives up those runs and hits. It’s mind blowing bad. Roberts and Mattingly also mis used the hell out of him but still it makes no sense
