What if we get Kakko and he become Puljujärvi?

Do I deserve?

I'm surprised by just how mediocre Puljujärvi has been, but he was always overrated. Kakko is going to be a really great player, but I'd still have Dach ahead of him.

I haven't seen any of Hughes to comment on him.

I'm bit shocked how hard time Puljujärvi have in Edmonton. I Still view he has potential.

If this summer photo shows you. Teräväinen and Aho are more muscular then Puljujärvi. Pulju is raw talent. If he would be available I would push hard on him.

Hughes is great, and I personally love Kakko more. But I still think Dach is the player the Blues need to target if they have the choice.

Dach just does everything so well. He's very capable defensively, his vision and playmaking is top notch, his skating is good, and he's improved his shot over the course of the year. I would much prefer him over Cozens just because I find Dach's skills more high end other than Cozen's shot. I know that any of the aforementioned players would do wonders for the Blues, but Dach is my top choice.

I agree with this. I said Krebs in my OP but I meant Dach. 6’4” RHS Center with very good skating, insane playmaking ability, plus shot, and an ability/willingness to go to the net. He’d be a great fit here.

I know man. Just can’t bring myself to fully embrace the draft talk yet. *sigh*
Well, I mean what's the point. I'd love to have any of Kakko, Hughes, Dach. If any are available when the Blues draft, I'm happy with whichever one Bill likes best. I don't see any value in thinking about it more right now, when I think its more likely we're drafting like 7th.

I think that’s something we can all agree on - whomever Bill chooses will be amazing. What’s the last prospect he’s chosen in the 4th round or higher that didn’t turn out to be at least something? Most of our nothing prospects are from the Jarmo era.

For those of us who don't recognize Finnish players by site, who are each of the 4 in photo left to right? I assume Puljujarvi is the tall one, but who are the others?

I fear we'll climb out our the bottom 10 and finish under 15...

Dont get me wrong, I'd move the same package for Orielly even knowing the pick, but I doubt this team will play entertaining hockey this year. It'd have to be a top 3 pick to salvage this dreadful season

Left to right Sebastian Aho, Putcola (NHL without the map creator), Puljujärvi and Teuvo Teräväinen.

I never understood the Puljujärvi love. He was a lot like MPS for me. Way overhyped

I've got several prospect vids to watch tonight but I'm re-watching Hughes again just for the ridiculous stick work.

Projected to late 1st round, but could fall 2nd round. Small dmen, but he has all the tools for offensive game.

Mikko Kokkonen is one dmen whom ranking has rised.

The NHL's never ending fascination with guys that are tall.

The tools (being massive and fast) were enough for him to torch juniors. NHL level defenseman, you need another element. An element he hasn't shown to possess.

Although for a raw prospect that needs a certain level of instruction and development, Edmonton was the worst possible landing spot for him.

Speaking of Swedish players, i think Broberg could help this team in a big way. And like others have mentioned I think our pick will fall between 5-10, which is a great spot to target him. Some have labeled him the best Defender in the class and he has Parayko speed and size, and in my limited viewing has better Offensive IQ than Parayko as well. I think he will be one of the most pro-ready prospects as well which aligns with more of a re-tool philosophy as opposed to a full on re-build.

If you’re picking a dman in the top 10 and you don’t pick Bowen Byram, you’re messing up big time. Broberg is big and can skate, but has little-to-no offensive upside. Very much in the same school as Mikkola, although he’s much more talented. Byram is also big and can skate, but he makes plays happen all over the ice, jumps into the play, and actually uses his shot. He’s as steady as Broberg, but has a lot more confidence all over the ice. You want the puck on Byram’s stick for important plays. Idk if you can say the same for Broberg, who is going to be a steady player, but idk if he’s at that top tier like Byram. Byram can be a top-pairing guy, Broberg would be a good supporting cast guy.

I agree Byram is the better all-around prospect, but comparing Broberg's offensive game to Mikkola is way off base.

Most definitely Bowen Byram as the only D as a top ten pick in 2019. Really like Kaeden Korczak D from Kelowna WHL and hope he's available in the top of the second round.

I was going to mention Korczak. He’s off to a terrific start, and Kelowna is a defenseman factory. If he’s available, I hope we take him.

Not talent level. But style of play. I could have said Hjalmarsson and said the same thing. Nevertheless... where’s the production?

Kakko is my choice for a first round pick. I'd consider dealing members of the core to get more first round picks because this draft is extremely deep, from what I can tell.

And Doug Armstrong deserves to be fired after the year. I don't know about the rest of y'all, but I'd replace him with Bill Armstrong.
