Some have asked how Brett Leason's production compares to other 3rd-time-eligibles playing in the CHL. This is for the last dozen or so drafts:

By the numbers Kakko is putting up similar numbers to Laine's regular season.
Is there real potential of him dethroning Hughes?

Statistically this is reminding me a little bit of the 2017 draft, where the guy putting up excellent numbers in a European men's league is being ranked below some fairly meh-performing guys in North America.

What's interesting about Leason is just how far he has come from nowhere.

The rest of these guys were PPG players who stepped it up a notch the third time around. Leason had 33 freaking points all of last year. He is unique.

None of those prospects interest me at all. We are loaded at C and York is redundant with Rathbone and Hughes. Id probably just take Krebs and play him at wing.

Suzuki hit a huge wall after an amazing start, Turcotte has 3 points in 5 games, Lavoie is basically this years Rasmussen. Rather take Kaliyev/Zegras over any of those guys.

As nicely as he's progressing, I have a tough time saying that Jack Rathbone makes anyone redundant.

We're not loaded anywhere and nobody makes anyone redundant.

This is how you end up passing on Tkachuk cause we already have Virtanen.

Cam York role is filled by Hughes. It's like having two Keith yandles. I mean im not jumping for joy if we took him. Obviously our D prospects suck but there are better options if there isn't a BPA. I just prefer a D like Byram. Don't get the point twisted..

I still like Turcotte, Suzuki and Zegras.

Long season to go yet. Canucks may be picking top5~ still by the end of it.

Man we need the tank to get back on track a little. LA and Chicago aren't playing around.

As much as I want the other Hughes this is unlikely a bottom 5 team we have here this year. It might not be a playoff team but a team on the rise.
