Carlo and McAvoy pacts with Bruins prove the bridge deal is not dead after all - TheHockeyNews
This what I've been saying, a twit GM (hello Chia) does otherwise, a few other twits follow suite and it becomes the rule? Hell no. Bridge contracts are an important part of the salary structure in the cap world, skipping that step is a colossal mistake
There are cases where it makes sense but definitely not for guys who start playing in the NHL a year or two after being drafted.
Can I borrow your crystal ball?
I make fun of the Leafs all the time but I actually have sympathy. Their GM has not only allowed the inmates to run the asylum but those inmates are going to be paroled in their mid 20’s leaving Toronto in Suckville with no stars and feeling the effects of that horrific Muzzin deal losing 3 assets including a first round pick and a very good prospect- and the Marleau deal where they traded another first rounder
This will catch up in 4-6 years
The only thing they have going is the guy who authored the Salary Cap was hired and has showed Scooby Doo-bas how to circumvent it
man with the way things have gone with the Jets this summer, almost too bad all bodies on the back end weren`t healthy as they are starved for D
Someone with some good young D might be able to pry Laine from them the way things are going.
They lost Trouba and Myers and this just came out an hour ago Dustin Byfuglien maybe retiring.
I read on the main boards something rather funny. The poster was saying how Tavares gave the Isles a discount to help build the team. Isles never used that to stack the team around him. He goes to the Leafs and takes a lesser deal again and the kids all gobble up the money.
Three right shot defensemen in one offseason? Nasty.
It really is a shame the Bruins aren't in a position to help, with all of their NHL-ready defensemen all being left shots.
Vaak, Heinen, 1st for Signed Laine
63 37 29
74 46 88
To Bruins management reading this board: Sign this kid now!!
Kid can move with the puck, very good at starting the rush from his own end and creating breakouts from below the goal line.
That kid's wheels are all over the place
It would appear he chose unwisely...
I seem to remember you touting him a while back?
You are correct
Bruins need RHD prospects. If Dom approves, then I hope Boston gets him.
Just don't look at his +/- in the 2018-19 with Kingston....
Need to figure out the hometown discount
As much as I don't want to trade Vaak, that is too hard to say no to.
Also think Backes would have to go the other way adding another pick/prospect
In a heartbeat. No chance WPG does it and no chance the Bruins would be able to get Laine under. contract without moving out Backes or Krug.
What do you think Laine wants for a contract?
Rumor has it he wants 10m
