His rookie deal was $8.8 million for 4 years. 5th year option was $8.7 mill. So, 5 year total in Baltimore was $17.5 million. Contract with the Jets is $51 million for the first 3 years. Jets can cut him afterwards for only a $3 million dead cap hit for year 4. Guys have to get paid. It's the business of the NFL.

Can't blame the guy for getting his money. What was the best offer from Baltimore?
