The Jets need to load up on the line on both sides of the ball. Get a RB after that and then get the QB. Sending a youngster out with meh coaching and a meh team that doesn’t appear to believe in him is a recipe for disaster.

I think most agree that Gase has already served his purpose, running Maccagnan out of town. Anyone who had reservations about firing him should have none left

Charley Casserly should never sniff anything NFL related again

You get a QB when you know a good one is available. A competent GM should be able to find serviceable lineman. MM might be better at finding a goaltender for the Flyers than find good o-lineman

Brees or Rodgers in the Super Bowl might be the only thing that can save us from 19-0 this year. No team in the AFC is beating the Pats. The Chiefs' defense is a bigger joke than last year plus Mahomes is hurt, Josh Allen's not good enough to beat them on the road, the Colts and Texans will never beat them in a big spot and everyone else pretty well stinks.

Yeah Bill's not letting Lamar Jackson run for 170 yards, he always takes away the best weapon of the other team and that's it for the Ravens. Let's see him beat Gilmore and the Pats' secondary through the air.

You don't concede the game down by 3 possessions with 2 quarters or more to play. Especially when you're receiving the ball after the half.

But they definitely left him in far too long.

Yeah especially after he went off the field limping...no reason to put him back in at THAT point.

re: leaving Brady in too long, in fairness BB did actually pull Brady early (for him) the first time we played the Pats, then Stidham threw a pick-six and he had to put Brady back in now only up 16 lol

Everybody knows theres no chance of a comeback.
There's a difference between everyone 'knowing' and outright telling your team, the opposing one, and your fans that it's over.

The only time you do that is if you want to take a look at the guy in waiting.

I am FURIOUS with Adam Gase.

Did everyone catch what he told Sam Darnold when MNF had Sam Mic'd up?

HOLY CRAP!!

Your QB is asking for help and THAT is the best you can give him?

Adam Gase is a QB Whisperer????

Apparently, the only f'n whispering that Gase has ever done is the sweet nothings in Brady's ear as he bent over and took it up his and the Jets ass!!!

If the Pats make a deep run, it’s going to be because of their defense. Their offense is depleted by injuries at fullback and on the line; they are thin at receiver and Brady is actually slowing down and starting to show his age when you look closely. They have had a super soft schedule to this point. Should not have gotten by Buffalo, all the same. If they ever get behind and in a position where they need their offense to score, they will be in trouble.

The his career is over stuff is absolute garbage. Give me a break.

He made some terrible decisions and he's clearly rattled, but jesus, the melodrama here is off the charts. He's had Patriots in his face a half second after he snaps the ball all night. He had no chance tonight and Gase made it 10x worse because he's a moron.

I said beginning of the end...it'll be the game we look back on in two years when Darnold never pans out as the first, biggest red flag. I'm sure he'll have his moments against other bad teams, but you just can't be THIS bad in any NFL game. And you know the fallout from the ghosts comment is gonna follow him for a long time.

That is really unfair of you to say 'cause we don't know how his career will pan out. :nono:

He's just 22 years old.

Last I checked, a QB's Prime usually starts when he reaches 26 years old....

Are you implying that Sam will be deemed a bust and that we move on from him just 2 years prior to him entering his Prime then?

Sorry but I call bulls--t to everything you said.

Sam will turn it around and use it as a learning experience that he has a long way to go still in his growth as an NFL QB.

He may be young but that's part of the problem, he didn't get a lot of experience in college and learning on the job in the NFL isn't like learning on the job in another sport. But I'm sorry, you just can't be that noncompetitive in a game and spooked that quickly. Yeah the staff didn't do him any favors but if you get spooked after less than a half of football that just doesn't speak well to poise. It was like watching a Rutgers QB against basically any division I school.

And then there's this:

It's not like he was even pressured on most of his turnovers

QB's get four-five years on the entry level contract before getting paid. It's like Mariota and Winston now, if you ain't hacking it by year five you're gone into the land of gypsy backupville cause even mediocre QB's are getting paid on that second contract.

So what do you want to happen then?

For the Jets to find another QB?

That all depends on how Sam plays the rest of the way and/or how they feel about 1 or 2 of the kids coming out.

If this game was an anomaly, great! If not I'd think long and hard about moving him.

Did everyone suddenly forget what he did against the cowboys?

He's a boat floating on a sea of **** right now. There is little talent on the team and the offensive coaches are brutally bad.

I swear that we need surgery for all the KNEE-JERK'ing going on here by some. :shakehead:shakehead:shakehead

I thought that NJDevs would be just a tiny bit understanding of the situation but apparently he's as pessimistic as the next Jets fan (if he is a Jets fan). :whatever:

I am not that way and of course neither are you.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that Sam Darnold will bounce back next game, the Jets will win, and all will be right with the world again.

He is the real deal and IS a Franchise QB.

He just ran into the wrong team at the wrong time against the wrong coach while having zero help from his own Coach and O-Line.....and Defense.....and even Special Teams. (the perfect maelstrom of Suck)

There is that sliver of concern that he might have been mentally-damaged the way that Mark Sanchez was against the Ravens but I think Sam is made of sterner stuff than Mark and will have selective amnesia regarding this game and focus on the next game. 'Cause that was Mark's problem : Dwelling on his past failure instead of focusing on the present.
