#4 seed Providence wins on home ice in the East Regional, scoring 6 unanswered to eliminate #1 seed MN State ... CHN: MankatO-fer

Minnesota-Duluth narrowly avoids being the third #1 seed eliminated, beating Bowling Green 2-1 in the first OT period.

U Mass shuts out Notre Dame 4-0.

And in the East Regional, Providence advances to the Frozen Four with a 4-0 shutout of Cornell. That leaves just the Midwest Regional Finals in Allentown to determine the last Frozen Four entrant - either MN-Duluth or Quinnipiac, who are at the first intermission with a 0-0 tie.

UMD defeats Quinnipiac, 3-1 final. The Frozen Four starts April 11th in Buffalo.

Thursday's semifinals stories from NCAA.com: Minnesota Duluth, UMass will vie for a national title

National title game will be live on ESPN on Saturday, April 13 at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

Rough game for DU last night... Exciting no doubt but unfortunate outcome. Anybody ever watched a game before that had 3 game misconducts (should've been 4 for that absolutely blatant elbow in the 3rd period...) and no fights?

Good game, undisciplined at times, but the pace was fast!
The third period elbow was a ridiculous miss by the officials. DU, probably wins this game, as they should have been 5 min pp.
I am a Hockey East fan, so nice to see UMASS with a chance to win it's first NCAA title.
Great goal to end it, but lucky that they didn't have to kill 5 minutes, or the result probably is different?

Great performance by the Bulldogs, solid in the D-zone, limiting the MinuteMen offence and grinding down the UMass back end with their size and skill.
