How long until someone claims this was the NBA making it up in advance to New Orleans for having to trade Davis, so as a consolation they get another 1st overall pick. :sarcasm:

well they got the #1 pick in 2012 because stern wanted to make the team more attractive to potential buyers

so yeah

The Lakers have to feel absolutely sick after failing to land Davis at the trade deadline

they can still trade for him

offer the same core now with the 4th OA pick
They could, yeah. This has to at least make Davis think about being willing to stay. Not going to pretend I have an idea what will happen.

lol I was just thinking along the same lines about it being rigged bc Davis wanted out so the NBA felt bad for them and their dumpster fire and rigged it for them...

I'd say the Pelicans are the Oilers, but David Griffith seems to be competent as a guy in charge

The Knicks are the Oilers.
Well, nobody is as incompetent and dysfunctional as the Oilers but the Knicks come the closest.

wow

i can't imagine the pels trading AD at this point. zion+davis could be what finally saves that franchise. assuming AD stays it'll be AD+Zion+Randle. bully ball

I think the only way you keep him is if AD signs the super max extension this summer. No maybes or even verbal promises to stay. Have to get it signed and done now or else trade him.

The Lakers package should be a lot more attractive now with the 4th overall pick.

9TH ****ING OVERALL

THEY HAD THE 6TH WORST RECORD
Dropping 6th to 9th isn't as bad as tied for first to 6th though. Dropping 6 to 9 is effectively staying put. Suns just lost 63 games and now don't even have a good enough pick to even trade for help and will definitely be bottom feeding again.

I called it earlier with my buddy. It is rigged as ****. A big star leaves and that market is suddenly lottery money? Its happened to New Orleans twice and Cleveland after LeBron left

Yep, I mentioned that earlier in the thread. The situations are very similar.

There were reports this morning about the Knicks possibly looking to trade Zion for AD. There were also legit conversations about whether Zion's presence could prevent Durant from signing there this summer.

They did just win the lottery last year though. Winning it back to back would be insane Devils type luck.

Well the chances went from zero to slightly above zero...then again the Knicks and Lakers being at 3 and 4 could also easier facilitate a Davis trade.

Now the Pelicans can shop AD and find the guy to pair with Zion for the next 8 years.

Barrett?
Simmons?
Tatum?
Ingram + Kuzma + Ball + Hart + Reddish? :sarcasm:
