Too ashamed to show their faces?
Sidney Crosby turned down the invite.
"As you get older there are things that nag you," Crosby said during the Penguins' locker clean-out on Thursday. "I'm trying to take care of those."

The one guy I don't get is Point. Players in their late 20s and beyond often skip these, but usually guys around Point's age (as evidenced by the other two Canadians) take the opportunity. Maybe something nagging him?

You "pointed" out that he wasnt driving the net like he normally does. Maybe he was banged up for this series? If so having Point and Hedman not at 100% hurts our chances in the playoffs. Not going to use that as an excuse for why we lost but it sure doesn't help either.

No contract. He blows out his knee in a game against Slovakia and suddenly his contract loses a lot of value.

According to Swedish media, both Hedman and Strålman were invited to Tre Kronor, but both declined due to injury. :(

Well, at least we can be assured we'd have to be as far as the ECF without our top 2 defensemen should we still be playing. That is simply the most Lightning thing ever

What kind of coach does not put Kuch and Ovechkin on the same PP unit if given the chance?

Slovakia - USA 4-1. Erik scored game winning goal during 5 on 3 powerplay but what a performance defensively. Patty Kane was completely shut down.
