Looks like a fair bit of rain now in the Sweden/Chile game. Got to think the adverse conditions will cause delays as we are seeing now due to thunder and lightning.

That was one of the few positives about the men not making Russia, Fox is all rah-rah USA in their soccer coverage compared to ESPN. Basically the 2018 World Cup without the US became a chance to hype MLS instead when Panama, Costa Rica played

Ertz back to center back with Sauerbrunn out with injury. I know she started out as a center back, but she hasn't played the position in like 4 years. Why not start Davidson to get her some experience in a World Cup match against an inferior opponent?

It was a good tackle. She got the ball.
She got the ball sure, but went in with two feet and studs up and caught the ankle too.

Contrary to popular belief getting the ball does not preclude it from being a foul.

That had to be embellished. She definitely had her arm slightly but it’s hard to see how a girl that size could have taken her down. She has about 6 inches and 50 pounds on her

The penalty shout before was more of a foul than that one...she jumped and then fell.

I can agree with the two feet, but the studs weren't up.

That seems more like a game management call to hopefully not let it get too out of hand.

I am for one not a fan of the Americans. If Thailand are not good that's not their problem. Do not suck if you do not want to get scored on.

Good first half. Seeing things that we needed to see breaking down a bunkering team and they looked confident and aggressive right from the start. Only thing I didn't like were all the short corners. There's nothing wrong with whipping in a ball where the keeper is 5'5 and the majority of the starters are under 5'3.

This tournament has been a big letdown so far with all the very bad teams and poor referees + the VAR FIASCO.

Crazy to think that Mal Pugh will be playing in a World Cup. Watched her dominate my sister since she was like 12.

I find it amusing that there are a bunch of people complaining about VAR when the abhorrent reffing has been much worse for so long.
