Based on other peoples reactions, here and elsewhere on the internet, it doesn't seem like Sinclair has a poor history with PK's. Why not have your best player, one of the top goal scorers in womens history and a player who is not going to get nervous in a bog moment take that kick? Isn't that one of the advantages of having a player like her on your team?

It seems crazy and even more confusing when you consider how much Beckie has been struggling this game.

Nobody knows but them. Maybe Sinclair was trying to pass the torch and it was her decision. Maybe they were trying to get Beckie out of her funk with a goal.

All we know is that it didn't work out. Great save and take nothing away from the Swedish keeper but Beckie has been extremely poor this tournament and in a game like this...it just seems like a really bad decision.

Thought it was a hand ball, and completely shocked that Sinclair didn't take it. One of the best players of all time not taking a crucial penalty? Just bizarre

Canada not really generating much. They look done. Long balls and long range shots not going to do much here. Little to no creativity.

Full credit to Sweden choking out Canada up front.

Watching this Canadian team is like watching a Mourinho team on attack. There's talent there, but there's absolutely no strategy.

It's based on long balls and wide crosses that are basically lottery shots hoping to hit the jackpot.

Allegri too. This is what I had to watch all year with Juventus.

It also looks like Italy's Ventura team.

The ball was sent on the ground halfway between the middle of the goal and the post. The goalie did a good job and it was a good save, but it wasn't Gordon Banks on Pele or anything.

Canada is clearly lacking talent and energy.

Anyway Canada is due for a huge drop in the ranking.
