I guess players need to tie their hands behind their back now.
USA vs Europe now... Fortunately for the US the European teams will eliminate a bunch of other Europeans (But for that to matter the US has to beat France... That's a handfulAll Asian teams are out with the elimination of Japan and China.

The following ‘handball’ situations, even if accidental, will be a free kick:
• the ball goes into the goal after touching an attacking player’s hand/arm
• a player gains control/possession of the ball after it has touches their hand/arm
and then scores, or creates a goal-scoring opportunity
• the ball touches a player’s hand/arm which has made their body unnaturally
bigger
• the ball touches a player’s hand/arm when it is above their shoulder (unless the player has deliberately played the ball which then touches their hand/arm)
The counter argument is that having your hands by your sides is natural and it's much more unnatural to play with your arms tucked behind your back or into your body. Also, just to show the PK that was awarded:
It's not just about chopping the arms off...that has always been, and will always be called. If not for the arm being out that ball goes right into the top corner. You just can't do that, intentional or not.
What went wrong for Canada at Women's World Cup?That game was a tale of two halves. Dutch were better in the first half and gassed in the 2nd, where Japan looked better and more dangerous.
People should appreciate what a great game that was. Does it suck that it came down to that penalty kick? Yes, but if Japan finished one of its chances, or Miedema buried her chance in the first half the game would have ended differently.
Either way both teams left it all on the field and it was really a spectacular game that I will probably rewatch tonight or tomorrow.
Hats off to the Japanese ladies also for being so classy and humble even in a defeat of that magnitude, timing and heartbreak. Really have a lot of respect for them.
That said, UP THE ORANJE!! Really proud of the Leeuwinnen today. Despite looking absolutely out energy at the end of that game they managed to create one more chance that (IMO) should have been a goal if not for the arm stopping the ball, and the PK was thankfully dispatched. Really resolute showing there to come back from Japan's late pressure.
Christine Sinclair, the 36-year-old captain who has seen the program develop throughout her storied career, called this team the best the country had ever produced heading into a major tournament. An ideal blend of young talent and veteran savvy, highlighted by Sinclair, created a legitimate belief that Canada could be in line for its best-ever World Cup finish.
Matching the quarterfinal berth from four years ago was the minimum projection.
Well, about that.

Lol. Here’s a pic of them together at a Juventus team function.Who would have thought Cuadrado would make such a fantastic CB for Italy.
tickets are sky high right nowAbout to take off for Paris. Super excited to see USA v France on Friday... Got my seat assignments and we're 10 rows behind the net...
The Men's World Cup was a blast last year even without the US involved... This will be on another level.
USA hasn't scored from open play for 259 minutes. Almost three games.
Should be interesting to see if they rely on set pieces/penalties vs. France.
Yeah that's pretty impressive.they've also given up 1 goal in 90*4 minutes
