Argentina are going to choke this. They need a sub bad!
Yup

Batista deserves all the credit for this choke job. They were rattled and lost the plot in the 2nd half, too late in making subs. 2nd goal should've never ever happen you need focus in the final minutes. He then takes off Barco 4 minutes to play and lets his replacement take the penalty coming in cold he was the only player to not score his shot. Called it as soon as he stepped up. Where do they get these coaches from? What utter lunacy.

Zagadou played well. But Upamecano... ouch. This team has Ndicka, Zagadou, Kamara, Upamecano, Basila, all tremendous pro defensemen. Their goalie is a 4 year pro who's starting and among the best in Serie A. Yet they couldn't stop the US from scoring 3 times on 3 plays.
That's pretty awful.

You've mentioned Upamecano twice now, but he didn't play at this tournament.

Hmmm, yeah I got all the guys mixed up for zero reason. That was Zagadou who was beaten on two goals against the US and Kamara who had a decent game.

Damn I need some sleep.

I thought the first goal was more of Loiodice fault than anyone. He got beat by the slip pass. Kamara had vacated his position after stepping into the attack, and was caught up field and couldn't get back in time. Zagadou wasn't really involved in the play, but a faster CB might've covered better for Loiodice who admittedly had a tough job having to defend Kamara's position. The second goal looked like a combination of Zagadou and Kamara. Kamara was poorly positioned too far forward from the center of the box, and Zagadou lunged at the ball and missed.

I thought the biggest problem with the French team was the lack of attacking threats. You guys had more possession, but a very low xG total.

Nah, this team isn't a high scoring one. Gouiri will score 1, and Diaby or someone else will score a 2nd.
The problem is that you don't concede 3 goals to a very average team (with all due respect) when your strong point is absolutely crazy good defensemen/goalie.

Looks like Italy's going to advance. Mali tied it up 2-2 but moments later Italy converted a penalty shot and just had a shot now to make it 4-2.

how on earth is keita starting for the usa over james sands. keita is a bombscare. randomly comes into the midfield when defending and half of his passes goes to the other team in dangerous areas.

Americans lose 2-1 to Ecuador. Just not good enough from certain players. No idea what DC United fans see in Durkin, he was just awful right from the beginning. Mendez got worse as the tournament went along. Had high hopes for De la Fuente, but was unimpressive. Weah and Dest got a lot better. Richards was consistent throughout. But overall not good enough.

Keita is not good enough. Sands should have been starting in his spot. Durkin was unimpressive today. De la Fuente's dribbling skills left a lot to be desired for a hyped Barca youth teamer. Disappointing result today. Both goals were very preventable. No one had any interest in closing down the shooter on the first. Not sure what the keeper was doing on that shot either since it wasnt even in the corner of the net and was struck from outside the box. The 2nd goal should have been cleared by Richards off the crossbar but he wanted to take a touch and got beat.

The 2nd goal should have been waved offside.

Pretty sure some kid on Senegal just go knocked the **** out and came back in the game like two minutes later. Jesus Christ.

Collapsed later in the match and was stretched off. Dumbass announcers didn't really say anything about it. Lack of media coverage is telling, had this happened to a player from Europe/The Americas everyone would be losing their shit.

Why did the idiot referee didn't call anything? Why do we have to wait 3min. for a simple easy call that should be made on the field? Terrible way to start a final.

The penalty call was really borderline, but luckily didn't decide anything with Ukraine winning. Supriaha and Tsitaishvili certainly saved the best for the final.

The only thing borderline was if it was inside the box. It was clear that it was a foul so why the idiot didn't call anything?

It was on the line so penalty easy call.

Great comeback from Ukraine, massive title for them, once such a fantastic soccer "nation" in the 60's 70's 80's 90's.
