I understand Timmins said that as per someone on 690 who pointed it out this afternoon. It struck me when I heard it and then didn't look into it further. I wonder if the comment was recent.

I think too he'll be top 15, and he won't be overdrafted. He's just a good size C with top 6 potential and speed to burn. Teams love those players. Won't be there at 20, rightfully so.

I've got a Matt Duchene feeling about him (of course not as rounded up/defensively efficient in his draft year). I'm pretty sure he'll be one of the top players in the OHL this upcoming season.

    Imagine if we get Lavoie

    Imagine the collective breakdown
    Drunk WTK
    Arrested MRB1P
Runner trying to shoop it all up but his laptop busting
Le_sean and Habs hating because thats what they do
S_bah declaring him the next great powerforward

Where did you hear Harley had a bad interview? His Media interviews he came across very mature and confident.

He's got to gain some strength and put on some good weight and will probably be around 190 as a pro.

I think you're spot on wrt his next OHL season.

I don't think I'd call the slew of 5'11" and 6' D undersized although he did mention they were looking into which of them still had growth potential.

Wouldn’t be against picking Lassi Thomson

I suspect he is the guy we all forgot. Prefer him by far than Seider

The one thing that Timmins said today in his press conference that stuck to me is the fact that our team will be looking to draft players that work and compete hard, with good attitudes (not exactly what he said, but that's what I understood reading in-between the lines) and that these qualities will be a few of the main criterions for our draft selections.

If those comments weren't all smoke and mirrors to distract other GMs, I think it's safe to say that we won't draft either Kaliyev or Lavoie given the fact that their main weakness is their low motor and questionable levels of implication, which should prevent any major meltdowns by some of our posters.

As for my wish for tomorrow, it'll be all about managing to draft Boldy as he's got all the tools and a good toolbox. Kolyachonok at some point in the second round would be really nice too, but like with Boldy, I'm not getting my hopes up.

Bold which you would pick between the two:

    Seider or Thomson?

    Broberg or Heinola?

    Kaliyev or Newhook?

    Harley or York?

    Boldy or Krebs?

Hoping that Krebs' injury tanks his stock down to 15. I speculate that his injury should be fairly treatable. Hopefully one of Krebs, Pods, and Newhook is there at 15. Boldy strikes me as overoptimistic, or in line with a FanSpeak-type simulated draft. Or just for fun... a trade-down with LA resulting in Brink/Kaliyev and Thomson at 22 and 33.

    Seider before Thomson easily.

I'd pick Broberg but I really like Heinola and wouldn't mind trading down to get him.

Newhook and Kaliyev is a tough one, we need a sniper much more than another center but Kaliyev has many question marks. Poor in his own end and not a great skater. Incredible shot though.

I guess Harley over York but it's fairly equal.

I like Krebs more, but Boldy is a better fit. I'd take Krebs though, love his game.

I am sure Newhook can play wing, its harder to convert a winger to center then the opposite. I really like his speed. He seems to be good enough to score 30. Kaliyev can prolly pot 40 in this league but in terms of overall player, Newhook seems to have the edge. It’s like comparing Domi to Galchy

This is always how I imagined WTK tbh.

    Boldy
    Newhook
    Heinola
    Krebs
    Seider

No one else from that list

    Edit:
Domi and Newhook have pretty similar games, save for Max’s psychotic edge.

I think Alec is a much better skater and also a better player at high speeds.

One tendency I have noted with a lot of posters here is the liking of those kids playing in a men’s league. It’s understandable but dont underrate those kids playing in juniors. What Harley did as a 17 years old in the OHL is eye popping. Seider and Heinola didnt exactly tore up their league either.Neither did Broberg. I mean they still have question marks, and they wont play for the habs next year.

If we were talking about Kakko then thats a different story. Its like Sergachev, we picked him out of juniors and he potted 40 points with TB.

Heinola actually tore up his league relative to his age. He just put up the best season by a Finn D since the 80s.

I know you like Heinola but I will be the first one to let you know if he is a bust. We all know he is good but he does have some questions marks. He had 2 goals I mean, I know he had 12 assists but we will see. Lassi Thomson had 17 goals on a not so offensively team such as Kelowna. I mean, thats no sloush either
