Bob McKenzie had him at 38. Not a huuuuge reach.

No problem with the pick. He was a projected top 5 pick a couple of years ago so the high end potential is there. With his size and play style he has a high floor so at the worst will be a bottom 6 guy. If he gets his skating down he has the potential to be that 30-30 power winger we have searched for.

A lot of mocks had him in the mid to late 20's back in January. Obviously a lot of us wanted to see them take the guys falling like Lavoie and Kaliyev but you can't exactly be pissed about a reach. Plus, it's pretty cool that these brothers get to grow up together and play for the same team, and we get to watch them do it.

"Competitive as he can be, he can shoot the puck with NHL players right now. Size and strength, something that will help us moving forward. From what I read when healthy he has been good. Adds size. Cant complain. Hope the Foote bros tear up the league in TB!
