Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it was a bad thing in any way, and social distancing is something we should practice until a vaccine comes and something our culture should embrace afterwards.

Maybe a better word choice was shutdown. Are cities that have low numbers just delaying their inevitable huge spike, at which point the economic impact will end up being worse because we just dragged it out longer.

Oh WHO is warning us huh? Well I'll be sure to not take that under advisement. I'll file it away in my "Give 0 f***s about" folder.

Not every city is the same, so the strategies they use/used should be tailored accordingly. Here in Chicago, the response, the timing and so far the duration seems appropriate. I am not invested enough to make much of a guess on other places.

Yeah, responses should be tailored to the specific population in a specific community.

Now you're making me feel like Kit from Knight Rider. "The WHO is a puppet of China Michael."

But seriously I'm not sure why anyone would use them as a go to source of knowledge. They failed hard at the start and have no credibility as far as I'm concerned. Better to do your own research than rely on a failed organization for direction.

    Regardless, there isn’t a doubt a 2nd and 3rd wave is coming.

Great, so our scouts were just really bad at the time. Not just would Edmonton have been a bad trade, but Columbus too lol.

I'd rather have gotten that CBJ deal so Eric ****ing Brewer never wears the C for four seasons here

In this world you live in the Blues never trade Brewer for Tampa’s third that ends up being Binnington, thus means we most likely are still cup less right now.

Shit worked out on our end much better then it should have. The very last piece we get in that trade tree was the guy who goaltender us to the cup. At the end of the day, it was worth it.

Binnington may never have an elite season (postseason) again. But he had a legendary run last year. That Game 7 performance (both of them, the Dallas game was epic too) was something every goalie dreams they could do. He has that in the bank, playing his best in the biggest moments. I’ll take the meandering trade path that put him in the Blues’ net in that moment and never regret Brewer again.

Sweet, so the Pronger trade did work out.

Wasn't quite sure where to ask this but, I'm wondering... Obviously if the season still finishes out, past July 1st, then UFA would open at a different time. But... What about re-upping players with one year left, like Parayko. Do you think we'd be able to lock him up on July 1st or will the rules change for players with 1 year of control left as well?

I think you'll find that the rules will be changed such that whatever day the UFA period opens for this pending offseason is the day that you can extend contracts with only one season remaining, though that is just my speculation. I doubt they will open up the can of worms you would get by allowing players to extend July 1 when the current season will not even be completed unless a determination is made before that date to cancel the rest of the season and playoffs.

    Weird times for sure.

Oooof. I think we can still contend if Petro walks, and depending on the price, that might even be the best outcome given the upcoming need to re-sign Thomas, Parayko, Schwartz and Binny ... but Dallas or Colorado picking him up is nightmare fuel.

Since then, Boston extended Halak to a not cheap deal, so they might not have as much room now, and I saw a report that Colorado isn't interested in big name players. That at least takes away some of the top teams. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out, and if Petro does leave what does he value.

    Schwartz - Schenn - Tarasenko
Perron - ROR - Steen? (I like Thomas here)
    Sanford - Bozak - Thomas
    Blais - Sunny - Barbie

    Faulk - Petro
    Scandella - Parayko
    Dunn - Bortuzzo

it’s been so long, I’m having trouble. I probably missed somebody

Steen isn't going to play on the second line when everyone is healthy. :)

Not per se how I'd do it, but this is what I expect:

    Sanford - O'Reilly - Perron
    Schwartz - Schenn - Tarasenko
    Blais - Thomas - Bozak
    Barbashev - Sundqvist - Steen

Defense is probably going to change depending on the opponent with Scandella - Parayko as the only fixed pair.

I’d like to see Thomas centering the 2nd line and move Schenn to RW.
