Ben Brinkman and Minnesota lost Game 1 of their quarterfinal round against Notre Dame in the Big 10 Tournament. They're ranked outside of the Top 16, and a loss in the first round of the tournament would guarantee they don't make the NCAA tournament ... ending their season.

June 1st, 2020

He's signed through next season in the SHL which means he couldn't come to Texas if I'm understanding the transfer agreement correctly. I actually couldn't find the info any where legitimate, but Euro leagues appear to be protected from poaching for an AHL assignment ... not NHL.

FYI .... Jakob Stenqvist is in identical situation. He's signed through 20-21, but he must receive contract from Dallas by June 1st, 2020.

Speaking of Stenqvist, he has back to back 2 assist games. He has 8 assists in his last 6 games, and 15 points (3G/12A) in his last 18 games. He's averaging just under 20 minutes in those last 18 games which is higher than his season average of just under 18.

Assat has 3 games remaining this season, and they're locked into 9th or 10th so they'll be in that play-in group of 7 through 10 for the final 2 playoff spots.

Jacob Peterson also had a nice day for Dallas prospects in Europe. He picked up a goal and an assist in a loss.

No talk of Otter’s performance as of late? Especially last night ... 45 save win.

Kid is looking like the real deal in his AHL rookie year.

He also played both games of the back to back and was really good in both games. He has clearly overtaken Bow at this point as if that wasn't clear already just be the facto that he was called up and not Bow to back Dobby up last week.

Overall the Texas Stars are now very much carried by the two 2017 draft picks Oettinger and Robertson which is great to see.

Landon Bow was highly overrated ever since he came into the organization. I can't believe they gave this guy #1 duties. He's a 3.00 GAA .900SV% career AHL shitty goalie.

Meh before Oettinger nobody else really played any better than him. THey had AHL veterans and multiple other prospects and Bow was just the best of a mediocre bunch of AHL goalies.

Stars just sucked at developing goaltending for such a long time.

No one expected Bow to do anything but play in the AHL and be an emergency call-up, and it's not like we had anyone else to take his role.

Now that we do, he's been demoted.

No idea why there's any complaining here.

Hopefully in this offseason we can get Robertson and Oettinger a little help. I’m glad that the young guys are killing it, but the whole team should be on their shoulders

Ben Brinkman's season is not over yet, and they have given themselves a shot at the NCAA tournament even if they don't advance in the BG10 tournament next weekend.

CHL seasons end in 2 weeks.

In the OHL Eastern Conference, Barrie (Porco) is 5th and Mississauga (Harley) is in 6th.

In the OHL Western Conference, Kitchener (Damiani) is 3rd, Flint (Dellandrea) is 4th, and Windsor (Douglas) is 5th.

Winnipeg (Barteaux) is 3rd in the East Division. They do the NHL format with 2 wild card teams. Barteaux picked up 1 assist in 3 games this weekend. His scoring has cooled down quite a bit after really taking off after the trade to Winnipeg. He had no points in 7 games before an assist today.

Jacob Peterson picked up another assist today in a 3-0 win for Frolunda.

Albin Eriksson had an assist, but more surprisingly he actually played 15:15 in a 2-4 loss. The trade to Farjestad didn't really increase his ice time until this game. He's mostly been a healthy scratch or playing well under 10 minutes.

Oskar Back was scoreless in the game.

Apparently, Eriksson was on the Top PP unit today as well.

More on Eriksson .... he was one of 7 junior age players in the lineup today for Farjestad. They were apparently resting players as the season ends Saturday.

It's a little interesting considering their position isn't locked in. They could still finish as high as 2nd or as low as 6th.
