He'll get traded before the end of the year, I'm guessing. Mississauga is well aware that he was close to breaking the Stars roster this year, and they probably will want to get some assets for him.

He looked pretty good in his short stint with Texas at the end last season as well. His NCAA starts are really underwhelming so IRC some people wondered why he even got an ELC . He could carve out a role as a third/fourth line grinder though . No skill players but he was a fourth rounder so not exactly expected.

Go look at Roussel's junior numbers. They're pretty terrible and comparable to Gardner's college stats. Guys who are elite pk'ers can get away with mediocre stats if they can skate. We'll have to see but he's going to get a chance to show what he can do in Austin.

Go look at Roussel's junior numbers. They're pretty terrible and comparable to Gardner's college stats. Guys who are elite pk'ers can get away with mediocre stats if they can skate. We'll have to see but he's going to get a chance to show what he can do in Austin.

Well in Roussel's case its also because he played like a crazy person and ended with a stupid amount of penalty minutes. His career highs in the AHL is lower than the the points in most of his NHL seasons .

Gardner also is pretty high in penalty minutes in his NCAA stats. So there might be something there .

Just read that. Brinkman was the one pick in the later rounds that I was pretty stoked about seems like he has the makings of a modern shut down defenceman. Even if he just becomes a Jordie Benn that’s great for a 6th rounder.
