He uses his “destroyed” leg to stop sliding, and puts his weight on it to stand up in the neutral zone. He also steps into the bench left leg first. And then limps down the tunnel on both legs.

I seriously doubt we’re looking at some major surgery here.

Then again how many times has EJ played a full game just to miss the rest of the year with season ending surgery.

Skating is a far different motion though. It uses entirely different muscle groups and requires far more precise movement than just a jog. It is also a dumb idea to risk further injury just to get off yourself.

Hines Ward didn't have a left ACL... You'd be surprised what you can do with various injuries. IIRC Elway doesn't have a left ACL either.

McKenzie says the sense seems to be it's going to be week to week rather than day to day but we'll have to see when they make a formal announcement. He also said some close to the Avs suggest it's not necessarily going to be long-term.

Week-to-week signals a 4-6 week sort of thing... which is better than day-to-day with the Avs as that means he really is dead.
