They belong in this tournament because they aren’t good enough in the league. They didn’t even win this tournament when they were in it last season. Simple as that, that’s all that matters.

Europa League points are worth less so they’ll be lower.

Oh, so you mean they aren't good enough for CL because they couldn't finish top 4 in the toughest league in the world? They are still miles ahead most of the teams playing in the CL. Idiotic argument. They also play the B-squad for most part of the season in the EL. Not like it's prioritized or anything. As a Liverpool-fan you wouldn't know since you played your best team in this tournament and still lost to Sevilla.

Yes, they aren’t good enough for CL qualification because they didn’t qualify.

Arsenal fan chirps Liverpool fan about losing in an EL final a few years ago after they've been to back to back CL finals and won the trophy, after Arsenal were just blown out in the EL final against a team from their own league and have never won the CL or any iteration of it.

The hits keep coming.

While losing to Liverpool constantly. You’d think shame would kick in at some point.

As for the long travel to Astana, United will send a full B team I think. Leave everyone else back in Manchester. Best way to deal with that. Espanyol has a terrible group for traveling supporters though.

Arsenal has their toughest game of the group stage tomorrow. Hopefully they can kick it off with 3 points and rotate the squad through most of the rest of the competition.

Maybe not the proper place, but with the Rangers playing Feyenoord tomorrow, I'm sure there will be a major tribute to Fernando Ricksen, who died today from motor neurone desease. Ricksen was one of the most storied and charismatic players around and will be greatly missed.

Former Rangers footballer Fernando Ricksen dies aged 43

Hated the guy as a player, but he was fantastic at his job.

Was sad to see him so helplessly suffering. Feel for the family and his kids.

Dudelange winning in Cyprus

After a decent CL week but start to the EL for Krasnodar getting hammered in Basel. Though not sure how seriously they are taking this as they probably have CL ambitions domestically

Ihattaren with 2 assists vs. Sporting today. Still only 17 (same age as Fati, btw) and he's got 3 goals and 5 assists in 8 appearances so far (though he's only played about 4 games worth of minutes). I really hope the Netherlands don't lose this one he's got prodigious talent.

I think he'll opt for Morocco the way they are luring him.

Malen also with another goal to continue his hot streak (7G + 1A in 3 games with Oranje, in the competition and UEFA League)

This tournament is so boring. We play against a good side in the Bundesliga with our B-squad and wins. It really shows how much we belong in the bigger tournament instead.

Frankfurt are still better than Olympiakos though.
