Lets go back to talking about politics. Its infinitely less painful than some of the takes here.

The big orange guy is awesome.

Can anyone rank the Flyers top 6 dmen by ESP/60 without looking it up?

To get you started, Myers is #1 and Ghost is not on the list.

Of course I looked it up, that's why you have a computer!
As Einstein once said, "never memorize something you can look up."

pp/60 (ES - 5x5)
Myers 1.17 pp/60 - 0.97
Braun 1.15 - 1.11
Sanheim 1.06 - 1.06
Hagg 1.02 - 1.03
Niskanen 0.98 - 0.92
Provorov 0.87 - 0.59
Ghost 0.65 - 0.49

xGF/60 (ES - 5x5)
Niskanen 2.61 - 2.43
Provorov 2.61 - 2.32
Sanheim 2.52 - 2.44
Myers 2.23 - 2.19
Ghost 2.16 - 2.11
Braun 2.07 - 2.06
Hagg 1.96 - 1.97

I know Braun was first at 5v5. Sanheim second. I want to say Hagg was third and Myers fourth. With Niskanen, Provy, and Ghost bringing up the rear.

I remember it not correlating at all with the perceived skill levels of each.

Edit: Right order however Niskanen was a lot closer to Myers than Provorov or Ghost.

Interesting how xGF varies so much from scoring for defensemen.

This may reflect the confidence forwards have in their defensive pair, with Provorov and Niskanen on the ice, the forwards may be more aggressive, so the team scores more even though the defensemen don't get points.

While we chat about prospects...Farabee is a no brainer legit NHL player ready to explode. Frost has to work and be disciplined as he is a bit diminutive, as such his ability to get another angle to his game like Marchand did will be important, Marchand felt he had to play a bit filthy to stick in the show and eventually he could let the filth go. York is simply time, dmen need time, he has tools, it's a,waiting game.
BOBBY BRINK....huh.....why is he in the discussion?

Which is bigger:
6'0" 180lbs
6'0" 164lbs

Farabee was 171 lbs at TC.
Farabee plays bigger than Frost even though he's a few lbs lighter, "natural strength".
Farabee is also going to fill out that frame, Frost is close to maxed out.

Yeah no athlete gets stronger or gains more weight once they hit age 21.

It's genetics, some guys add more strength than others, look at Ghost.
You add strength up to 25, but for most athletes, the bulk of bulking up occurs between 18-21.

Most hockey players are at their ideal playing weight once they are 20
Not sure if this is sarcasm or not.

Strength is more the what I was getting at. There is a reason we have the term "man strength". Frost and others may weigh a similar weight in their early 20's, but losing teen fat and replacing it with muscle makes a difference.

The entire point is that Frost is not "maxed out".

I understand frost was a very good defensive player in juniors. Is this contact aversion something he showed with the phantoms? I wouldn't have normally thought to put a skill player waiting to fill out on the fourth line but maybe getting roughed up a little is what the kid needs

NAK is 5'11 211, he's a bigger version of TK (fireplug body).

Yes, Frost can get a little stronger if he has Giroux's work ethic (how many do, then there's Provorov, but he's not human).
However he's only added 7-12 lbs since he was drafted, (5'11 173 at the combine) over a 3 year period.

Farabee should be able to add another 15-20 lbs the next two to three years.
6'0 162 at the combine, 171 in TC this year.
I figure he'll end up around 6'1 190-195.
