Konovalev another great game today

Well, I hoping for our #1 goalie. Watched Button yesterday and they said we should be all over Askarov if available. I hate drafting a goalie in the 1st round when we need forward depth.
Should be noted that the 2 goalies in the finals are Russian

Bouchard is playing in a Swedish league?

Anyone have a preseason report on him?

Yes he is technically Oiler property for one more year but in all intents and purposes this was the last shot they had at getting him while under team control.
Can we add him to our playoff roster?

Lavoie joins Vasby IK of the Allsvenskan.

It's just up the road from where Bouchard is playing with Sodertalje.

they’re playing each other in a preseason game tomorrow 11am Edmonton time aswell. Not sure if both or even one of them are playing though.

It’s nice for Lavoie to spend some time in Stockholm instead of Skåne(Southern Sweden)

Look who's leading the Czech league in scoring:

Why would that be? Is Lavoie a big city kid and can't handle smaller country town living?
Skane Sweden is liken to a friendly, quaint, clean smaller Minnesota or Wisconsin town in the beautiful countryside with some rich farmlands and treed forested areas. Beautiful, but maybe not ideal to a big city kid who aspires the limelight of NHL and big NA cities, eh!

Mostly tongue in cheek

Anyway they're both in the lineup

Bouchard was 0-0-0 -1, 0 PIM, 3 SOG
In a 4-1 loss to Lavoies team
Lavoie was 0-2-2 0, 6 PIM, 3 SOG

Lavoie with two assists? Any footage of them? Wondering how good they are. Interesting to see the PIMs too, sounded like he has a mean streak from what I heard before

I don't know what the third one was but he got one penalty for boarding and one for crosschecking

Slightly concerning if he doesn't have an NHL out.

If there IS an AHL this season, boy is the Condors D going to need help.

Hopefully this is a mistake and Lagesson does have an out clause. If the Oilers can offload Russell it’s pretty much a given that Lagesson would be #7D, and those guys usually get 40 games/season because of injuries. It’s an important spot.

I thought I'd reply to this in the prospect thread (or is Lagesson no longer a prospect?)

So the team his will be playing for, Vita Hasten in SWE second league, are kind of trying to use a loophole in the rules/recommendations.

In the SHL only players on an existing contract are allowed to play temporarily (until the NHL starts). If it is a loan, in which a new contract with the SHL club is needed, it needs to be clear that the intention is to play the full year. This is a strong recommendation/accord, but players/teams could still break it by signing a contract with the intention to play the full year, but then have their NHL team call them back over some (semi)justifiable reason (like injuries).

In the second league, Allsvenskan, they have a different recommendation/rule. They say that up to 4 loaned players is ok, even if the player was not on an existing contract with the club. Basically 4 players can come on loans, and help out while playing on contracts lasting until the day that their NHL teams call them back. However, Vita Hasten already has 4, now it's 5 and soon 6. All of them players who will be called back once the NHL is back on, but at the same time the team is claiming they full year contracts... They are a fringe team and see a chance to go all in before these guys leave, after that they will drop like a stone but hope to have enough of a cushion not to get relegated.

Lagesson is not staying there the full season unless something unexpected happens with the re-start of the NHL season.
