I'd be shocked if Nurse ever hits 40 points again under Tippett. He played recklessly defensively last season and that won't fly under this new staff. I also don't see him eclipsing Klefbom on the PP1, and see Bouchard as the next guy up next year

Kassian has a career year (late 30's points) and goes on to sign a huge UFA contract with another team and he's gonna be a huge dissapointment in his next team.

Benson and Bouchard both make the team

Neal scores +20 goals

EDM finish 8th in the conference.

Koskinen lets in a few high glove goals and the usual fans have a meltdown.

Bear makes the team and looks good. Benning is traded mid season for whatever.

Klefbom fails to deliver the goods again. Making him 1/6 on decent NHL seasons. Certain fans continue to insist he’s a first pair player.

McDavid plays with a revolving door of junk on his wing and still puts up 120.

RNH proves again that he can’t drive a line. Returns to his usual fifty something points.

Khaira does not score twenty. Tries to fight Lucic and takes the beating of his life.

Bouchard has 60 point rookie season on the big squad.

James Neal scores 43 goals.

Koskinen gets 10 shutouts.

Tippet wins coach of the year.

Holland wins executive of the year.

I win the 50/50 at one of the games.

Man I'm so jaded about this team at the moment. Torn between that and not wanting to jinx the Oilers even further. Ah well, may as well play along.

Bold positive predictions:

-Condors win the Calder.
-Nygard scores 20 goals.
-Bear sticks out of training camp and ends up being our best defenseman for the year in a top 4 role.
-Koskinen posts a 0.920+ save percentage.
-Oilers sweep the season series against the Flames.

  • McDavid and RNH out for 80% of the season due to injuries, rampant speculation McDavid was rushed back.
  • Koskinen and Smith both post sub 0.85% SH seasons.
  • Granlund plays 10 games before being sent down, he never returns to the NHL.
  • 50% attendance at Rogers with McDavid out.

Drai outscores McDavid. There will be talk if Drai might be the better player going forward because of less injury prone, bigger body, better year for year development...
