Flyers to Open 2019 Development Camp June 25

Development camp

The Philadelphia Flyers will open their 2019 Development Camp on Tuesday, June 25 at Virtua Center Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees. Forty-one prospects are scheduled to attend the five-day camp, including six of the club's seven selections in last weekend's 2019 NHL Entry Draft and a total of five first-round picks from the last four drafts.

The camp will begin on Tuesday with the roster divided into three groups - one for defensemen and two for forwards. The groups will be on the ice between 9:15 and 11:30 AM and 4:30-5:45 PM on both Tuesday and Wednesday.

On Thursday, the camp will shift to Stone Harbor, NJ for the team's annual Trial on the Isle community event. The camp participants will be participating in an autograph session at Stone Harbor Elementary School from 1:00 - 3:00 PM, with select prospects also taking part in the Flyers Community Caravan and Clinic for Kids at 12:45 PM. From 3:30 - 5:00 PM, the camp participants will be part of a beach volleyball tournament at 96th Street Beach.

For the final two days, the camp returns to Voorhees for morning practice sessions and evening scrimmages. Friday's schedule includes morning practices from 10:30 - 11:45 AM and a 3-on-3 tournament from 4:00 - 6:00 PM. On Saturday, the morning practices are from 10:00 - 11:15 AM, after which the camp will culminate with a full 5-on-5 scrimmage from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.

All on-ice sessions are free and open to the public. The schedule is subject to change, and updates will be available on PhiladelphiaFlyers.com and via the team's social media channels.

Last season I took my son to an open practice session at the start of training camp (9/15/2019). They had all sorts of fun activities and free souvenirs. Are they doing the same this season?
(I’m asking here because I honestly don’t know where I heard about it last year).

All practices are open during training camp that are at the Skate Zone.

Likely the first weekend of camp they'll do some type of a event like they had last year though so i'd guess then.

If I recall camp opened on a Saturday last year and that weekend was the mentioned giveaways. I usually go the first weekend of camp myself.

How far is train ride from Philly to where the DEVIls play ?

About an hour on Amtrak.

UPDATE:

If you need schedule info, go here: Northeast Regional Train | Amtrak

Newark, NJ has two stops: the airport and Penn Station (different from NY's Penn Station) and the latter is the stop you'd want.

Mass Transit Information | Prudential Center Newark NJ

Prudential Center is just two blocks from Newark Penn Station and connected to Newark Broad Street Station by frequent, convenient bus & Light Rail service. Purchasing your ticket is easy from NJ TRANSIT ticket vending machines, available at many rail stations, Light Rail stations, bus terminals. You can choose from a variety of ticket options including one-way, ten-trip and roundtrip tickets. And, you can save with discounts available for students, seniors, kids, and groups.

I recommend you park at Hamilton train station. If the game ends late you won't have to worry about the last septa train at Trenton.

Its safer then Trenton
