Great team win, system looks good whene veryone is executing.

Lizotte is a f***ing machine. That enthusiasm has to be contagious. How can you slack off when a 5'1 dude just goes out there and gets crushed by McQuaid shift after shift and pops back up like hit me harder you bitch

Random thought: HFBoards on desktop is really ugly. I created a stylesheet to make it a little better. I use Firefox and the Stylus extension to modify styles. If you find it equally annoying, feel free to use this stylesheet:

Code:
body {
    font-size: 16px !important;
    padding-bottom: 0;
}

.breadcrumb .crust a.crumb {
    padding: 0 10px;
}

.mainContent {
    margin-right: auto !important;
}

.message .messageMeta {
    font-size: 13px;
    margin: 16px 0 0 0;
    padding: 8px 0;
}

.message .messageInfo {
    padding: 8px;
}

.userText {
    text-align: center;
}

.messageUserBlock div.avatarHolder {
    background: inherit;
}

Stylus for Firefox: Stylus – Get this Extension for Firefox (en-US)
Stylus for Chrome: Stylus

I set the domain to hfboards.mandatory.com.

Awesome. I didn't realize there was an extension.

Now all I need is to relearn bootstrap/CSS.

In case anyone wanted to see what it looks like:

I also run uBlock Origin, which I advise everyone to get, so I haven't tested with adblock off. Might look f***y without it.

The HFBoards blue on red color scheme was really messing with my eyes.

Does it kill the popups too?

uBlock Origin does. I highly recommend switching from Chrome/Safari to Firefox on your desktop.

To be clear, my style changes are purely aesthetic. Easier on the eyes, in my opinion. If people are actually interested, I can spend a lot more time making it better. I was just tired of squinting at a site I use every day. But definitely, definitely, definitely get an adblocker.

Some interesting things to think about:

Anze Kopitar is 15th in the league in points scored with 27 points in 25 games. That’s one more point in one less game than Ovechkin. No other King is in the top 100 in scoring.

The team is clawing its way back to respectability in terms of plus-minus, with ten players even or better and Sean Walker leading the team at plus-eight.

Quick isn’t last in save percentage or goals against average anymore! In fact, he’s now beating Sergei Bobrovsky in both categories! Yikes, Florida!

The Kings lead the league in shot differential per game.

Quick has a save percentage of .915 over his last 9 games. Rumors of his death have been somewhat exaggerated...

So 5-2-1 in the last 8.

5-2-1 AK

Most of the games at home, and they have 12 of the next 16 on the road, so we'll get a better idea, but they were 7-7-4 without Kovalchuk last year too.

29-46-6, 65 pts per 82 games, with Kovalchuk
12-9-5, 91 pts per 82 games, without Kovalchuk

One guy, one winger, one 2nd line winger, at times one 4th line winger, can't make a team almost 30 points worse on average. Maybe he is too much of an individual, because he's not lazy or anything. Not that 91 points is good. It's black hole territory. Just that every game he doesn't play, and every point the team gets while he doesn't play, it keeps making it more ridiculous.

.920%, and 2.00 GAA, in the 7 games he's started since Kovalchuk was sat.

It could be just a good 8 game stretch, for the team and Quick. The schedule gets tough post-Thanksgiving. I'm interested to see if this with/without split keeps going though. They're not 11 points in 8 games good. That's 113 points in 82 games. They're going to slow down, and they already have over the last 3 games. It's a giant hill to climb. 5-2-1 has gotten them from 31st in points% on 11/11/19, to 29th in points% on 11/28/19. A lot of work, without much to show for it.

The team is looking much more comfortable and consistent. Probably has something to do with them learning a new system.

Getting decent goaltending is making a huge difference also.

Ever since Kovalchuk was removed, something just feels more 'right' about this team. I can't quantify it, but it's noticeable.

the resurgence of Quick is what I am routing for most this year. Every game he starts I cheer for a save percentage north of .900.

If you just take out his first 3 games, in 14 games his GAA is 2.81 and SV% is 90.7%.
Not great but not bad for what's supposed to be a defensively challenged team.

I point to the 2nd vancouver game where they score 4 pp goals that all I could not fault the goalie on and a breakaway from center ice as well. he has had some bad team luck in front of him an I think he underlying play has been very decent.

Not top 5 in the league but behind this team he is definitely doing well.

Since November 1st he is 13th in the league by save percentage and 8th in the league by GAA among goalies who have played 8 games. He has not been bad at all considering.
