dammit fell asleep in the 3rd with it 2-1. woke up, checked my phone and was pleasantly surprised.

I fell asleep as well, but when I woke up I saw Kempe being carried off the ice by his teammates. He was holding up the #1 sign while trying to take off his helmet to show off his flow.

With all of Staples Center going insane I clapped my hands, and it felt good.

Oh shit never mind I just woke up to the ending of Rudy.

The other thing is it's very possible for this team to be awful and still not finish last.

We just lost 7 of 8 then won two and boom, advanced in the standings.

With the lottery system cheering for losses seems much less appetizing(not that I could ever do it even before the lottery). Even the last place team only has a 18.5% chance of getting the 1st overall and a less than 50% chance of having a top 3 pick. I'd rather see development from prospects than all out tanking.
