15 more nhl players tested positive on Monday? It seems to me there is it a chance the Lightning could have a handful of them?

one would have to think our positive players would have spread it to more.

Does anyone have any info on this? If the whole lightning team did get infected we are screwed

well our players need to get the heck out of Florida for sure have training camp in West Virginia for all I care lol

Toronto and Edmonton are the cities of the moment.

Vegas was way too risky, IMO. I don't understand how long they lasted. A tourist destination with open casinos. Vegas has also been one of the more troubled cities during the protests.

This is my biggest thing, normally I would look at it as a lot of over exaggerated panic. But the issue revolves around the mentality in the states which makes this more dangerous and infectious. Some how they made a pandemic and a disease a political statement which in turn has killed more American's in 6 months than the Iraq/Afghanistan war has in 10 years. The sheer level of incompetence from the Government all the way down to the citizens is mind boggling as an outsider looking in.

I don't know, maybe other non american's here can speak to their experience from their country and how the states is viewed. But I am with @Whoshattenkirkshoes in getting the players out of Florida sooner rather than later.
In Germany everybody is still wearing a mask in public and keeping distance (if possible). Government gets a lot of praise and I don’t see many complaints.

Hard to really complain about Canada either when you look at what's going on south of the border. In eastern Canada, where I'm at, we've had it more/less stamped out for a month. Obviously much more difficult in states with major cities, but I'd say over all we're pretty happy up here, especially on the east coast.

Doubt it. Wouldn't they have shut down our facilities again if that were the case?

Yes please. I am saying we are in our cup window. Traded 2 first round picks and our top prospect. What a shitty time for this to happen. What does that have to do with charts?

What does players getting Covid have to do with our Cup window? Again it's better for them to get this now so they'll be more than cleared before training camp even starts. They just announced the Hub cities, they're going to take a few weeks to get the logistics figured out before they bring the players in. They will most likely quarantine the ones who have already got Covid from the others till they're cleared and test constantly. They aren't going to start the games till after they have the majority tested and cleared anyway. Florida being rampant for Covid has absolutely no impact on the team or the Cup window. The only impact it would have is if one of the players decides to back out because of concerns about their health or of their family. We haven't heard any of those concerns yet like we have in the NBA.

MLB also had at least one guy choose not to play.

Are you serious right now? If our players get infected they will be at a disadvantage for sure vs other teams.

Not to mention our cup window is right In the middle of a global pandemic where sports may or may not return. For two whole playoffs we won’t be playing in front of fans.

it’s a massive blow

No fans is a small price to pay to even continue doing this when you consider the mass refusal by state govt and citizens alike to abide by social distancing rules. Common sense might as well be a super power anymore

That had nothing to do with Covid. That was for social injustice.

Would like to see more done in that regard. It makes me sad that people have to die in order to raise awareness of social issues that needed to be addressed long ago -much less to get the ordinary citizen to start thinking about the issues regardless of where their feelings fall in the matter.

Playoff avatar theme for a western conference team (unless they decide to flip the conference assignments):

An Edmonton as Las Vegas theme because it was looking like Vegas was going to be the western playoff hub for the longest time.

What happens in Edmonton, stays in Edmonton.
Welcome to Fabulous Edmonton sign.
Edmonton, baby!
Edmonton: Canada's Playground.
etc.

Disadvantage? Do your limbs start falling off when you get infected? Our window isn't ending soon. Our oldest core player is Stamkos who just turned 30, still looks good and is signed 4 more years. We will be fine.

No one really knows how long the window will be open.

Retired 5 years, still looks like he's in game shape.

I hope Brett Hull is taking notes.

No kidding, jesus the guy looks even bigger now that he doesn't have to worry about being agile. Next season will be a shortened one, the guy should consider a comeback, we could use cheap scoring and maybe his kids could use extra college tuition funds.

Seriously though, when are these guys leaving Florida?
Campa Bay should start July 10th, and July 25th is about when everyone is supposed to head to their hub city. I don't think that the league would prevent them from leaving early, although crossing the border may be an issue.

These guys are looking to be away from their families for a while though, so they'll likely stay in TB for as long as they can.

Good point. But man, these numbers are kind of scary. I feel like it's only a matter of time before we hear about more players testing positive.
