Ginning is no more of a "lock to play in the NHL" than any of these other guys.

He sucks. Vote for someone who actually has some skill and potential, instead of voting exclusively for height and draft position.

Serdyuk is an intriguing prospect, but if you think he has a better chance of a long NHL career than Ginning, man, I think the bias here is against non-offensive defensemen more than draft round.

You said it, Serdyuk is an intriguing prospect. Ginning, not so much.

Of course I'm biased against 7th rd picks UNTIL THEY SHOW SOMETHING.
Because if they had already showed NHL skill set, they would have gotten drafted a lot higher.
People just think a crude projection of NHL scoring makes Serdyuk a real prospect before they've seen him.

Eh. People want to vote for him, that’s their prerogative. We can’t have a hockey based discussion on him, that’s clear. But the fact he will go in the 25-30 range says enough. An exact ranking doesn’t particularly matter. I know there’s at least a few more I’d vote before him.

Ginning at this point is reasonable, he may not look pretty, but a 19 year old defenseman who should end up around 6'4 220 lbs, has decent mobility and two years of SHL experience, and seems to be a favorite of Swedish coaches in international play, probably has some upside.

And of course Striiker hates him, which means he's probably going to play 10 years in the NHL.
