I'm not voting for Bunny today, but it's a good excuse to post this again because it makes @Captain Dave Poulin happy.

7 Assists
19 Total points
.26 Pts/Game

Connor Bunnaman:

My problem with Bunny is simple, he did not look good playing the wing, but is he fast enough/instinctive enough to play center?
His size and goal scoring ability says wing is his best shot at the NHL. Unfortunately, he's another LH.

I havent seen much of him this past year, has Strome's skating improved at all since his draft? I assume since he's still here that it has not?

I saw him a bit when I was watching for Kaliyev.

Yes, his skating has gotten better since his draft year. But, it was so bad that he's still a pretty bad skater. As I'm sure you know, his hands are great. If he can somehow get his skating better over the next two years, he's got a chance to be a middle 6, PP producer imo.

The Phantoms period are going to be fun to watch, they're going to be loaded at forward.

Bunnaman has a quite good first AHL season, surpassing expectations, and at best maintains his place in our prospect rankings but likely drops if he loses this to St. Ivany. I know we added the 2019 draft prospects, but still.

Bizarre.

Living in Hamilton, I get to a few Bulldogs games, and most of them are on local cable. Strome's skating has gotten better but he is still not quite as mobile or quick as he'll need to be. However, his anticipation and hockey sense are superb, and he has decent speed when he gets going. He often leads the attack through the neutral zone and zone entry - and gets a surprising number of breakaways for a guy who can't skate. I'd love him to make it, he's got great hands. It's up to him to keep improving.

I'm not worried. Barb Underhill is a miracle worker with poor skaters.

Here's another kid she's been coaching and the level of improvement has been mind-blowing. :D
