I can feel the underground Gavin Hain support swelling to the surface. Soon.

It might be that Ratcliffe becomes the only skater picked by Hextall in the 2nd round to make an impact.

2014 -NAK
2016 - Laberge, Allison
2017 - Ratcliffe
2018 - Ginning

Aside from Hart, of course, his best use of a 2nd rounder must be moving up in 2015 to take Konecny.

Just shows the dropoff after the 1st rd, and especially the top 40 or so picks.
Which is why Hextall traded up for Ratcliffe and Fletcher for Brink.
Better to spend those 2nd and 3rd rd picks on a player you target than hope to get lucky.

This is also why you use those 2nd and 3rd rd picks at the TDL, but never trade a 1st (unless the player is controllable).

NAK is probably an NHL bubble player but could possibly make it if given a chance .
Laberge is unfortunate with the head injury and has very outside chance .
Allison if in the next couple of years can get that knee figured out , i consider the strongest in that group .
Ratcliffe looks like he could grove out a NHL role .
Ginning it is way to early to be calling him yet .
When i look at that the earlier part of the 2016 draft other than Hart we sure have been humped by injuries .
