Ya, but if they want to have home ice in the first round they need to keep winning. Only 3 points back of the 2nd spot.

All this talk about how crazy it'll be if the NHL ends the season early, and we're forgetting how shitty it'll be to not see bings sprint to the playoffs

It's so typical. Go on a historic run to have your season shutdown by the flu 2.0...

I've yet to see any announcement about the AHL suspending play. Are they tied to the NHL's decision on the matter somehow?

They are definitely tied to State mandates. Blues are playing without fans because of this. Hockey benefits from having players and fans being separated by the glass. They need to avoid contact walking out.

Not a surprise at this point, but it is too bad Binghamton's season might be ending early

    AMERICAN HOCKEY LEAGUE SUSPENDS PLAY
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. ... With the health and safety of our players, officials, staff and fans of primary importance, the American Hockey League has announced the suspension of play until further notice, effective immediately, due to concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic.
The AHL will continue to monitor developments and will provide updates on the 2019-20 season at the appropriate time.

On the off chance it does comeback Bing was in a playoff spot. Maybe the forfeit the rest of the season and go straight to the playoffs.

Bummer, but not unexpected amid all the sensationalism.

I know you say that, but if in 2 months this all blows over, it will be because stuff like this was done now instead of waiting. But there will be loads of people saying, "see, it was nothing."

I don't want to get into that discussion too deeply as it is going on multiple other places. I'll say this: You can believe there is a ton of sensationalism going on here while also believing this is a serious threat to certain groups of people and our healthcare resources, and that many precautions should be taken. That's where I'm at. I'd be more than happy to continue this discussion elsewhere like the TaN if you are interested in my full opinion.

I'm in the process of posting several profiles series with the aid of The Panel. The third in the series will be forward Mikhail Maltsev with the help of 5 questions provided by Duncan Field set to publish on Wednesday @AAtJ at SBNation. Please be safe as we are all in this together.

:huh::huh::huh::huh: Ironically, I felt Bastian played even better with the NJ than Bing, last season. Unfortunately he was injured. I was surprised that Bastian and Seney weren’t called up, this season. Both work their rumps off, and played an important part get Bing into a playoff spot.

Unfinished business, bring the whole team up next year (including the coach) and see what they can do in the NHL. The Devils will keep Blackwood, and take McIntyre for backup. Keep Nico/Goose up front, trade Palms for a first. Everyone else down. (Sorry Bratt) and on defense :help::huh:, Sevs maybe...
