If this is the Devils future than we can look forward to many years of suck. There is nobody on this team who looks like a future NHLer, there is no development, nobody who took a step from last year, with Seney being the lone exception. What happened to McLeod? Oh yeah, he is stuck with a talent like Baddock on his line, but is that the only reason why he is not even an average AHLer at this point? Bing needs a new coach, even more so than the parent club. This is just awful.

You seem to be looking right past Joey Anderson who has 15 points in 21 games as a 21 year old. Does that mean Binghamton's in great shape, no, and do I think the coach should be fired at season's end, probably, yeah, if things keep on this path. But also Nathan Bastian isn't going to keep shooting 5.5%, which is going to mean more assists for McLeod, Gignac won't keep shooting at 4.5%, Studenic will probably start scoring at a higher clip - Binghamton definitely does not generate enough offense, but some of these guys' numbers will come around a bit by season's end.

The AHL is not a developmental league. It is more of a holding facility for future 3rd and 4th liners and 3rd pairing defensemen. There are players who spend multiple seasons in the AHL and become above-average NHLers but it is rare. Under Shero, the Devils have already had 4 players who bypassed the AHL entirely (Bratt, Hischier, Hughes, Boqvist) and two who spent almost no time there (Zacha, Wood).

I watch the games. They suck. Just like in New Jersey, it seems as if there is no system, no strategy, no plan, nothing. Joey Anderson plays with Seney, he gets most of his points because Seney has been good. But ok, there's two guys that are better than last year and about 8 that got way worse at an age where we should see improvement. What a terrible mess.

Seney with the game winner putting it in his own net. Just when you thought you have seen everything.
