POULIN SIGNED TO PTO

Posted Yesterday
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Rapids Griffins on Thursday signed goaltender Kevin Poulin to a professional tryout.
Poulin’s last game action came with Eisbaren Berlin of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga, Germany’s top league, during the 2018-19 season when he tallied a 22-20-0 record to go along with a 2.80 goals against average, a 0.915 save percentage and three shutouts in 43 appearances.
Drafted in the fifth round, 126th overall, of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the New York Islanders, the 29-year-old logged 50 games for the Islanders from 2010-15, totaling a 18-25-3 record, a 3.07 GAA and a 0.899 save percentage. Poulin set career highs in games played (28) and wins (11) during the 2013-14 campaign.
A 6-foot-2, 195-pound netminder, Poulin has accumulated an 83-81-20 record, a 2.83 GAA, a 0.912 save percentage and 10 shutouts in 185 career AHL appearances between the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (2010-15) and Stockton Heat (2015-16). His pro resume also includes stints with Kloten HC in Switzerland (2017-18), Zagreb Medvescak in Austria (2017-18), Laval in the Ligue Nord-Americaine de Hockey (2016-17) and Astana Barys in the Kontinental Hockey League (2016-17).
A native of Montreal, Quebec, Poulin helped Canada win a bronze medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics after posting a 2.24 GAA and a 0.904 save percentage in four games.

He hadn't been signed yet when I did the last update.

It's a 6th AHL contract in 6 pro seasons for Ouellette.

The first 3 were with Leigh Valley (2014-2017), 4th one was with Charlotte (2017-2018) and 5th one was with Syracuse (2018-2019).

P-Bruins needed a goaltender to replace Daniel Vladar who got called up today by Boston.

Heads up: just a small error in the OP. Frank Corrado is listed as a Binghamton signing. He's actually signed to an AHL contract by Belleville.

A rare trade proving that future considerations aren't completely worthless in hockey. It completes the trade that sent John Stevens to Utica earlier in January.

Although, I have to point out that this type of trade is quite standard at the ECHL level.

Upgraded his AHL contract to a 2-year NHL deal.

Ralph Cuddemi (PTO with Laval) tore a ligament and is out for the rest of the season. They probably won't re-sign him, but I don't think they can release him until he is cleared to play or the season ends, so he probably becomes one of those "ghost PTO's".

Appreciate all the work you put into this @Booba . Question for you though: It seems there are a couple players missing from Rochester's list. G Michael Houser and F Pascal Aquin are signed to one year AHL contracts...
AMERKS SIGN HOUSER, AQUIN, AND MITCHELL TO ONE-YEAR AHL CONTRACTS

Did this just slip through the cracks or is there something I missed? I only noticed this because I had thought Aquin was just recently signed by Rochester but then saw he was signed in the summer so now I'm wondering why he (plus Michael Houser apparently) isn't on the list. The signing of Mason Mitchell is cited in the above article, but Mitchell is included in your list.

Again, thank you for all the hard work!

Actually, I did the update on the free agent post but forgot to add them (Aquin and Houser) to the main post.

Thanks for pointing it out.

Looks like the same is true for Steven Swavely in Lehigh Valley - he re-signed late with them, and he is listed on the free agent post as re-signed, but isn't on Lehigh Valley's contract list in the first post.

Well deserved for Miska who has been the Eagles' best goaltender this season.

First AHL SPC for the 30-year dman.

Ben Youds has joined the Swedish club of IK Oskarshamn after playing on a PTO for Rockford. Link

According to TheAHL's transaction page, the Ontario Reign have signed Jacob Doty for the remainder of the season.

Interesting trade dynamic in Lehigh Valley. Flyers traded NHL contracted G JF Berube to the Rangers and he was assigned to Hartford. Phantoms traded with Hartford for AHL contracted G Tom McCollum (plus F Lewis Zerter-Gossage). Both trades for future considerations. (Flyers then reassigned G Kirill Ustimenko from ECHL Reading to Lehigh and Lehigh assigned McCollum to Reading.) Flyers cleared an NHL contract in the process since they are close to the limit and have some draft picks in college and overseas they will want so sign this spring.

Phantoms Acquire G Tom McCollum and F Lewis Zerter-Gossage - Lehigh Valley Phantoms
