I don't understand? Was somebody hurt because of Kids keeping their team roster a secret ? I certainly didn't mean to offend anybody. Sorry if I did.

It is possible that some may get offended, but I do not think that "kids being Kids" that they have any intent on offending others. Just playing head games with their buddies. I guess our point ( mine and Hotwheels) was not to be laughing at the possibly offended kids, but more at the whole concept of kids playing these games with eachother. No harm intended by us or the kids. Tryouts and making teams or getting cut can be an emotional roller coaster for both kids and their families and we did not mean to rub salt in the wounds of kids that were waiting to hear or had been cut from teams.

NAX beats ND Hounds 7-5 in a much closer game.
Hounds are not to be underestimated... very good team. Two strong goalies.
NAX played Albers in net today, Gordon yesterday.
Savoie is on a line with Guenther and Hyland... a force to watch!

Wow! Impressive! I keep hearing things from my friends son about that American goalie on the AA ND team. If he's all that why wouldn't he be playing Prep? Also, how many goals for Wong this year, 100!?

So, earlier in the post we put up the rosters... ND had a roster with names filled in. This week they are all listed without names. i get it, could be a error on filling out roster. But, the games they played against NAX last weekend were also not including names. The boxscores showed stats with info like "Goalie 1, or forward 16, defense 20 and so on. Not really a big deal if they have an admin mistake. But, ND carried a heavy roster to Edmonton last weekend and word was out among the players that there were cuts to be had after the two games against NAX. Then the chatter started that this was against policy for Csshl, as rosters have to be finalized before first regular season game. After first game, a team can add to their roster, but not cut from roster. Anybody know if this is actually t he case?

From what I know about the team, that was the updated roster for the Prep team, other kids are now playing on the ND AA team in the Sask League. They were also the last to update the roster so not sure if that caused an issue.

My money is on Yale. Delta Green lost to Pacific Coast last week after Delta had beat Pacific Coast. Delta Green has some great players, but I don't see them overcoming Yale. Matty Smith would be one to watch though, he has had a slower start so far, but will most likely turn it on soon.

NAX Elite 15's have called up Loc'r Gordon again for the weekend. A game this afternoon in Calgary(Edge) and another back in Edmonton tomorrow. Will he see ice? Hard to say as the Elite 15 goalie Unger is strong.
NAX Bantam Prep have a game in Calgary(Edge) as well tonight, so it looks like Gordon has a busy couple of days.

I won't count Delta out. I get the feeling the loss to Pacific Coast was a fluke. Yale and Delta are extreme rivals and all the kids know each other from spring hockey playing mainly for the Lightning or Bears. Should be an extremely exciting match up to watch. Although I have been wrong before and may be again about this.

I am interested to see how Sword a D-man for Yale is doing though. From what I saw of him during spring and summer I would expect him to be ranked much higher although it may very well have been made clear that he is going NCAA route and will therefore not go high in the WHL draft but I have no idea about this stuff.

Can anyone explain the differences between Elite 15s, Midget Prep and Midget Varsity? I see a lot of drafted players are playing in Elite 15s.

Elite 15 is a stronger league than midget varsity, with the speed of midget AAA (Prep) but without the grit of midget AAA. It's in a sense a transitional year for the 15's.

In the words of a very wise coach, they should omit the elite 15 title and make the 15's midget Prep and the midget Prep should be changed to Junior Prep.
