hardly anyone posts in this thread, hence why it became buried, there's no need to redo a thread not locked, and not everyone follows F1, EITHER, Preds and that thread continues....
I was trying to help generate some interest for the IndyCar thread with the new thread suggestion. Maybe a mod can at least change the title to 2018?

Anyway, I'll be watching tomorrow.

Sure hope those guys figure out the downforce on those new cars. Too many yellows for my taste. But it was nice to see some good runs by new blood. Sam Schmidt looks like he might have a good one there in Wickens. Can we just call Sam, Team Canada now?

was it weird to see Helio being an honorary starter, even though he's going to be at Indy?

That's a big win for IndyCar to be on a network that cares. NBC will promote the sport at a much higher level now that they have all the broadcast rights. Obviously the fans win getting away from ESPN.

It feels like IndyCar could be on the upswing and this can be a big boost.

NBC definitely has a better TV crew than ABC does so that's a big positive.

I'm all for anything that helps the series. But maybe I should hold my enthusiasm until I see how many races require me to hunt down a stream.

yea, that seems to be a major issue right now, I'm in favor of non-ancillary events (Carb Day, and the Parade, Indy Lights, etc), should be shown on NBCSN just as they are now, rather than shuttling it off to an APP or this Gold subscription

I got rid of cable a few years ago and don't miss it a bit. I pay for what I want now (nhl.tv, cycling). Some races are still OTA and I record/watch them. Others require me finding a free stream so I only see those if I'm home and the timing doesn't interfere with other things. I refuse to buy a package of garbage just to watch a select few things I would still like to see. Turns out I do quite well with my current setup. Even saved enough money to buys some nice toys.

Even on Monday they can't put in on OTA?

I'm looking forward to 2019 when it will all be NBC and I can purchase an NBC Gold package to watch all the races at my convenience.

why would NBC interrupt Daytime programming for Indycar, John..... Fox does the same thing with NASCAR, REMEMBER Martinsville and Bristol, were run and/or completed on Monday due to weather issues....

Indycar doesn't have the caveat yet to demand to go OTA.... SINCE WHEN is Barber the Indianapolis 500, where essentially they have a full month prior to May to place this event in.
