If Bellemare and Roussel are here in May (and no others players injured) it will probably be our best lineup of all time.

I like what I see. France already did a heck of a job with everybody -incl. Roussel, Auvitu & Bellemare- onboard in last year's preliminary round with amazing performances vs. Finland, Switzerland and Canada. They were very close, and would have deserved the QF. Last but not least, I hope that Tim Bozon will also be part of the team in Copenhagen.

I watched the Friday Denmark game, a 4-2 France win. Both teams missing players of course, no Texier, Bertrand, or the NHL guys obviously. Was a nasty game, France had a bunch of PPs but outplayed the Danes 5 on 5 as well. Loved the little Correia dude, wonder if he will make the team. Liked Leclerc as well, and Fleury and the DaCostas looked strong. Didn't see the game today, a 4-0 shutout for Quemener. Scary group for France this year. Should be stronger than Austria but who else can they finish in front of? I'd feel better for them if they were in the other group, would be competitive with Norway and Latvia I think and much stronger than Korea.

Hate to spoild the party. Only two of the forwards from the first game and none from the second will make the final Danish roster. maybe two of the D men. Besides that Denmark could be reinforced much if some of the NHL guys don’t make it too long in the playoff. It was a very weak Danish team you played against.

Plus Emil Kristensen, Nicholas B.Jensen, Stefan Lassen who are core defenders, and the two goalies Dahm & Sørensen. As for the forwards, I wouldn't rule out Morten Poulsen also makes the team.

Never said otherwise and did not include Denmark in list of teams French would be competitive with, so it wasn't really a party.

Why not? Okay - on paper, Denmark has a stronger team with much more talent and depth. France has however impressed at the last tournament, and is able to deliver the one or other defeat if they play with all their best guys.

It is obvious France has less talent and depth than everyone else in that group except Austria of course. (I'd say for Belarus it is questionable)

The strength of the team is their incredible heart and combative mindset.
They are all dedicated to put the team / collective effort way way beyond personal interests.
The atmosphere in the locker-room is wonderful since many years.
They can beat any team again this year if they keep that underdog mindset.

The last game against Denmark was really a solid performance they were clearly better.
But like you guys said at the WC Denmark will be more talented even without some NHLers :)

Wish Correia would have stuck around a little longer, thought he had some creative offensive instincts. Depth in the French program has improved so much in the past few years it seems. A general question, how does the Cergy facility play into National Team Development? Are there national youth teams based there for periods during the year? Has it led to greater numbers in French youth programs in the Paris suburbs? I read a piece awhile back that the Spanish were considering a similar model in Barcelona, so I assume the Cergy facility is viewed as a success?

French centerpiece Antoine Roussel is one of the good guys, who love to play for their national team. He says however, that he doesn't know yet whether he will be playing the WHC in Copenhagen or not. Which also depends on his team, the Dallas Stars, even though he doesn't have a contract with them for the next season.

"Quant à l’équipe de France, je ne sais pas si je disputerai le Mondial dans un mois. J’ai quelques bobos. Ce n’est pas toujours ma seule décision, Dallas en prend parfois aussi. Même si je n’ai pas de contrat, ça peut arriver."

France: Roussel au Mondial, ce n'est pas gagné

Team France looks strong, yet again.
if you guys get Roussel too, that's a big +

Bertrand should be a no brainer for France.

2 strong extra pieces for team France.

Bertrand hasn't been very good on the national team but he's been having quite the season this year so maybe that'll change.
It is the perfect moment for him to show he has the skills to produce with the national team.
Big season this year and he will probably play on the top6 (2nd line) so we can finally expect some goals from Charles

Germany - France (21/04)

Yesterday we saw that France will really struggle this year without its top players :help:
Looking forward to the next game to see some little improvement :sarcasm:

You've got to respect Team France. After that crushing defeat in Wolfsburg they came back, and played a defensively sound game today, and could have won this with a bit of luck.
Players like Kevin Hecquefeuille, Antonin Manavian and particularly Yohann Auvitu did a nice job today, and Florian Hardy is a really solid goaltender. If only they could add some offense to this team...

Bertrand and coach Henderson are not big buddies.
Welcome back to the resident French hockey expert. Posed some questions in an earlier post I'd hoped you'd see. Basically, I was curious how you see the Cergy facility impacting the French national program, specifically in the junior age groups? Does France base these teams there?
