I've never understood the notion where one fans opinions speaks for a whole fanbase. There could be a 100 posters you agree with and you would hate the Pens regardless rightfully so because you are a Caps fan. But as soon as there's one opinion you don't agree with they are automatically the voice for the whole fanbase. That's my opinion. I'm sure some will agree and some won't.

This coming from a guy who is convinced that one player saying "*** this league" at the end of a frustrating loss triggered an NHL wide conspiracy to ensure the Caps made it to the finals.

This Vegas team lost 3 games total in 3 rounds. That's an amazing run. They are good enough to win one. Hopefully not good enough to steal 3

He's either trolling for the attention or a very miserable person.

One fans opinion is a lot different than the alternate captain of the actual team.

If I could write the script, I would like to see the Caps win at home. But more than that, I just want them to win and hope they do it tonight...

This Blues fan is pulling heavy for the Caps. I'm all in. I love seeing long-suffering fan bases win. It gives me some small glimmer of hope... sorta... even though I know in my heart of hearts the Blues will NEVER taste the ultimate prize.

I lived in DC for a few years and the Caps are my second team and I'm pulling for you guys tonight. The Golden Knights were a great story, but I think my soul would have died a little if I had to see an expansion team win the cup, so come on Caps, do this thing. Let's do some hockey.
I think a lot of Caps fans root for the Blues because we know you know our pain. Sharks have only been around half as long.

If the series goes 3-2 you can bet Caps fans are already in heart-attack mode. You close it out with the most chances remaining. All Caps fans have to want that.

True that, but I take solace in the fact that the Caps are undefeated this playoff season in games where a team faced elimination. We closed out C-Bus on our first attempt in game 6, ditto for the Hens then staved off elimination in Game 6 vs Tampa and finished them in 7. Caps will win tomorrow.

Dude, I’ve had a pit of despair in my stomach since the final buzzer Monday night lol

I cannot fathom this team hoisting the Cup. Again, I can’t even envision it. I feel like the world will end as soon as Ovi would get handed the Cup

Pretty much the post of the season for Caps fans right here.

I still get up every morning thinking this is a dream.

Karlsson may be hurt. If it's because of Wilson manhandling him, I place the blame squarely on Reeves- it was his job to prevent exactly this!

A lot of attention has been given to Knights fans and how they bonded with the team. I give them props. That said, not enough credit is given to Caps fans. They've sold out over 400 consecutive games. They've been loyal for a team that never got past the second round. They just sold out a watch party in twenty minutes.

Wasn't twenty minutes. Had a group of 7 all logged on exactly at 1pm when they went on sale and none of us got tickets. Essentially sold out immediately.

I agree, for a city that lots of people call a crap sports town the Caps fans have been as loyal as any. We will never be a top tier sports town because of the makeup of the population(highly transient), but we are pretty great

Did you want him to say, "Holy **** we are freaking out! We are perhaps the worst hockey team to ever play in the Stanley Cup Finals?"

It's just coachspeak man.

Yeah, if anyone should be familiar with a coach spinning a web of bullshit when he's out of answers, it should be people who were fans of the Capitals from 2014-2017.

I thought it was the job those clowns with the dramatic swords in the pregame show to intimidate the other team to death.

Lots of people have lucked into being a Champion. Got to win at least two to solidify yourself.

What an awful take this is.

If you win a Cup AND you're Ovechkin(with all his scoring records and the like), guess what?

YOU EARNED IT AND YOUR CAREER IS VALIDATED, PERIOD.

This isn't like some scrub being a passenger on a Cup Winning team(we've seen a lot of those).

Not sure if serious, but the 4th line isn't often on against the 1st line, and Trotz will take that matchup all game long anyway. It's almost impossible to have a guy "riding shotgun" in today's game.
