Anaheim hosting it next year at their brand new 4 rink practice facility in Irvine. Seating capacity will be 2,500. Much bigger than Anaheim Ice. Seems like maybe each team will host it.

Seems a bit weird that Calgary and Edmonton dropped out of the Penticton tourny. Could be for the better as it seemed Calgary and Edmonton were just sending older squads which always seemed to goon it up.

This summer Sharks are doing major reno on existing facility (digging up oldest two rinks and redoing everything, literally from beneath the frozen ground and up). But on the radar (for the past decade or so) has been the expansion of the facility to include multi-thousand+ seating arena (for the college game; and perhaps eventually the AHL Barracuda). Sharks have hosted rookie event in the past (seating for a few hundreds).

USA Hockey deploys to Nevada, Minnesota for major CEP events

In addition to 6-team rookie tournament in Las Vegas this weekend....
Nevada will be an American hockey hub this week as Las Vegas hosts the Golden Knights’ NHL Rookie Faceoff and a sizable USA Hockey coaching education clinic. The events will run concurrently at City National Arena and the Red Rock Casino as part of an energetic kickoff to the 2018-19 season.

The Golden Knights will be one of six NHL teams participating at the Rookie Faceoff, which also includes the Anaheim Ducks, Arizona Coyotes, Colorado Avalanche, Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks. That four-state representation will be more than doubled by USA Hockey’s coaching clinic, which is set to host attendees from 10 states, including some from as far away as Florida and Alaska. In all, some 80 youth hockey coaches, directors and administrators registered for the Pacific District Level 4 certification event, where they’ll experience deep dives into USA Hockey’s American Development Model, including a goalie-specific training track and on-ice sessions with 10U, 12U and 14U players from the Junior Golden Knights, while also learning how to use USA Hockey programs to maximize the growth and sustainability of their hockey programs.

Red Rock is literally across the street from CNA.

Referee Training Coming To City National Arena
Local officials association hosting camp in two weeks as well.
