Men's underway shortly. Any predictions? I'm going for Fourcade, and if he doesn't win (or at least least medal) no more predictions from me!

Great race this!! Peiffer 10/10, just a dead eye.

Fourcade 1+0, and in the mix.

Johannes Boe gone, but older brother in third. The

Fourcade has totally blitzed it, 5/5 and now 31.8 up over second place Boe. He's been possessed today.

Gold for Fourcade after 1+0+0+0. This is a supreme display. Just brilliant. So much quicker than anyone tonight and clutch shooting when it was required. This is why he's arguably the greatest of all time. Legend.

I should say on his way to becoming the GOAT, OEB still definitely holds that title but Martin is on his way. Let's hope he can add a mass start gold to his resume.

He`s up there but my vote still goes to Ole-Einar Bjorndalen. 27 more individual wins and 13 Olympic medals, eight of which are gold for the Cannibal tips the scales in his direction. Fourcade still has time, though and I don`t see Bjorndalen adding anything to that resumée.

Kaisa shot herself away from medals again... :shakehead Actually did it before the Olympics by not taking precautions when her boyfriend was ill and ended up getting sick as well.

I feel like Makarinen always misses when she can't afford to. Had a great career but has missed opportunities time and time again.

Oeberg 20/20, looking hard to beat. Man, she took s bit of time with that final shot, knowing full well what that shot meant, and knocked it down. Impressive.

Mäkäräinen's shooting has always failed her in major competitions. Her skiing is strong enough for a medal place, even gold, but mentally has never been strong enough to take that medal.

I don`t know if it´s mentally or if she`s just not that good at shooting. She`s often in the mid eighties percentagewise.

She's a much better shooter on the World Cup circuit. She just can't mentally handle big occasions, like the Olympics or World Championships.

It`s the German wiki source.

Her shooting was always suspect, not just at the big events. But you are right that it seems that she never even pulls off a really good shooting in the big events, a thing that she can do during the season. But then again, there are many more races in the season. I couldn`t find a shooting percentage that divides between title races and season.

Also with Makarinen, I feel like she often blows her chance then does well once the pressure is off her. Take tonight, hits the final 5 when all hope is gone. I genuinely feel like she does this a lot. Mentally she is weak on the biggest stage.
