McLaughlin again, much higher upside offensively imo.

I don't doubt that his offensive upside is higher. I just have a hard time justifying him being higher than Groulx on this list when he was picked the round after him just a couple months ago.

They were both considered second round type talents in this draft, I don't think it would be a stretch to prefer one over the other.

The same thing happened with Gates and Terry, and the board got that one right.

Went with McLaughlin. I like Groulx a lot and think his offensive game is more advanced than his numbers show, but McLaughlin has shown more top 6 potential at this point imo.

Teams sometimes take the chance that a guy they like more will be available in a later round in order to pick someone they think might go earlier.

No idea if that’s the case here but its not uncommon.
