Also of interest will be the winner of the annual Brandon Bochenski Memorial Trophy™ which goes to the Ottawa Senator who puts on the best pre-season performance.

Isles were good in the preseason last year? Don't even remember. I kinda do remember Ho-Sang and Barzal doing well though

Updated after last night's games.

Sorry for the late update. I had a 9-8:30 day today :surrender
Tomorrow will be a late update, for tonight's games, as well, for the same reason!

The schedule is crazy this year.

Islanders played Flyers 3 straight nights and I believe the Flyers play again tonight so that's 4 straight nights for them.

It's like that most years, teams have enough players with them that it really does not matter.

Jets only beat Minnesota with a non-goal called as a goal. Time to head over to HFJets and start up the tank thread.

What qualifies a roster as split squad? Doesn't every team do split squad until the final couple of games? (aside from teams doing showcase games like the ones in China).

Designating it as two games in the same day/same time.

Teams are splitting up squads, but a player could and sometimes does play across those squads in back-to-back nights; they effectively have a full artillery, in that scenario, even if they choose to "split" the team up on their own.
But a player cannot play a 7 o'clock and 7:30 game in the same day, effectively limiting the pool of players for each of those games.

The international games mess things up though. I'm debating counting all of Boston and Calgary's games as SS for the duration of their China trip, as, even though the games weren't played on the same day/same time, there is no way of mixing up the squads.

Leafs used to do this now they still have the split-squad teams but they don't play 2 games in one day anymore, other teams to Ottawa for example. imo split squad just means the team is split over two teams, they don't necessarily have to play two games in a day.

But having two games in the same day forces them to split their team.
Electing to split your team over multiple days is a choice.

But either way the teams are split squad. They choose to split the squad in either scenario actually, whether is on day or two.
