2018 NHL Entry Draft Thread (Less then 24 Hours Edition)

For my top 93, I decided to do things a bit differently. A cursory glance will show that I didn't include several big names. I don't necessarily have this players are no drafts, only I'm far lower on them than the rest of the world. If I'm too much lower on a player than the rest of the world, I just cut them from the list. Essentially, I'm just not willing to pay the price to get them. The first list contains only first year eligibles, and no goalies. The second list contains only draft re-entries. The third list contains the most loathsome position, goaltenders, one of whom is a re-entry.

Couple notes: David Gustafsson fell quite a bit from where I had him all season. I decided to put him as low as possible while still being ahead of the highest ranking of whom I am aware. Between the ears, he is a first round talent. But let's get the best price for him. O'Brien vs Morozov: this is one of those situations where I want both, so I adjusted my ranking to reflect the reality of where you will be able to pick these players. How to mix the lists? Up to you, but I feel pretty strongly about my rankings until the 50's. After that point you can take what you want from any of them.

I really don't understand why everyone thinks Kotkienemi has all these holes in his game?? As if he doesn't belong in the top of the draft with those other guys... He belongs. Just accept it... whether we pick him at 3 or not, he belongs in the top group and he has all kinds of upside just like those other guys!

Expect the Habs to get another Top Ten pick and use their 2nd's to move up for a defenceman. Whether they get Zadina or *Kotkaneimi*? Then Bouchard or *Dobson* to help with the backend moving the puck, not just offence. These are Sammy Pollock type moves, Barrett Hayton is another center that sounds like Dougie Risebrough, IMHO!!!... Pick your Poison, that may be Veleno if the Dmen are gone. TC players to play with Drouin & Domi two days to wait??? Maybe Tkachuk & Kotkaneimi with two Top Ten picks???

There's a decent amount from the U18s, that's likely the best place to get a good example of where he progressed to.

Not this years, I've been disappointed how there wasn't a u18 highlight video of Kotka, Areena has took down the full games already.
His Liiga bits are more from the 1st half of the season.

You mean a center comparable to prime Plekanec? I would want more from a 3rd overall pick, as much as I think prime Plekanec was a very good center.

Your list looks very solid to me!
Curious to know your thoughts on Regula, from what I gathered, he may be a big sleeper in this draft, never actually saw him play though.

What are the big names you left out of the list?

Timmins on the radio today sounded high on Tkachuk and seemed to already have his argument prepared for why they might take him. Brought up Poehling as an example of kids in College having a big jump in production following their freshman year and how the habs were criticized last year for taking Poehling but looks like a good pick.

Trading Buffalo our 3rd + a LW(Unnamed) for one of their young centers, great if it's Sammy Reinhart. Otherwise keep it for Kotkaneimi, suffering another bad year, hopefully getting another Top Five pick next year. Then trade Max for Edmonton's 10th & move up for a defenceman named Dobson hopefully.

He wasn’t particularly high on Tkachuk. Didn’t really care that he has bloodlines. Then he said that he had good production playing against guys up to 24 years old. He gave similar level of praise for Zadina. Most of the praise went to Kotkaniemi.
