The boos for Potvin were that loud mostly because of the Rags fans in attendance.
Though, NYi was hated at the time by our fans too since they were coming off 4 consecutive Cups.

Three future Devils announced in Housley, Johnson and Stastny.

Boston was a powerhouse back then but 5 players seems excessive.

Every player announced was truly a great player, with the exception of Chico who was a fill-in.
Actually Cirella and maloney were average too.

I clearly remember each player.

They did have the draft in NJ, but it's different when you're dealing with pro players and the accomodations they expect as opposed to draft selections and families.
