It's just silly to have 2 deadlines. Especially when it's to the point where we have no real feel for who clears or doesn't clear waivers aside from the obvious.

No. The waiver deadline adds extra excitement and dimension to the deadline, I love it. Don't fix what aint broke.
Agreed. Plus with all the injuries teams had late in the year, it is nice to have an option to supplement the roster prior to the playoffs.

Disagree on Seattle tearing it down. They are a good enough team and can compete for a WC spot for sure. You don't tear down a good team in hopes that you will be a Red Sox-Yankees-Astros type super team in 3-5 years. It's not likely to work out like that and those teams are still gonna be good then.

Definitely think Mariners could push for a playoff spot if they patched up some holes, but they refuse to do that.
