Nah.....doesn't seem like it at all.
I guess we're watching different things then.

I honestly couldn't care less how many prostitutes/porn stars or whatever Tiger bangs. He should just learn to not have a girlfriend, or at least make her aware of the fact that he doesn't do monogamy.

Other than that I haven't seen anything that makes him seem like a bad person as of late. He is much more engaging with the media, seems to be a lot friendlier with the guys on tour, all reports out there say he is a good dad :dunno:

Yeah, I don't know why Rickie is still so highly thought of. He had one real good year where he finished top 5 in all 4 majors but other than that he's only really been decent. Still a good player, but not in the same ballpark as DJ, Spieth, Rory, JT, Day (when he's at his best he's realllll good), Rahm (though he still has something to prove in majors, he has been incredibly impressive on tour).

Day is a terrible iron player, but if he's half-decent there during a tournament, thats the golfer you don't want to go against. His driving distance, on/around the greens combo is close to mid 2000's Tiger level.

I always thought after all that stuff came out he should have just embraced it and became the new bad boy on tour ala John Daly.

Amazing to see two legends in Tiger and Phil have a practice round together and chat all day like good buddies.

They really have become closer and the Ryder Cup and President Cup teams certainly have let them develop a friendship. I mean, Tiger and Phil texting and cheering each other on! Great to see as a fan of the game and a fan of greatness.

Heading out to Atlanta on Thursday evening! I'll be there for Saturday, the day where it's supposed to get cool and rain. Please please please let the forecast change. Enjoy the tourney fellas!

"Golf has parity"

Uh, no it doesn't.

The past era had two elite players, the current era has two elite players, and maybe a third (Thomas), if he can sustain his production the upcoming years.

Johnson has 1 major and he's 33. Sorry, thats a good career, but no one will care who was World #1 whatever year. Lee Westwood and Luke Donald are former World #1's. Respect for Jon Rahm's game, but have the season Thomas had last year, and then you enter the discussion. Same thing for Fleetwood and Matsuyama, although there's less shine, but they are still relatively young. Prove yourselves in the four biggest events, win POY. Fowler's an orange jumpsuit gimmick. A bunch of other real solid pros like Rose, Stenson, Garcia, Day, but every era has those.

Tiger and Phil deserve everyone's full respect for their careers. Two of the all time greats. I'm hopeful Tiger can still put in another 5-10 years and challenge Jack's record, he certainly has the talent to challenge the game's elite, not sure if he has the fitness for it anymore, but I'll be rooting for him, like I have since I became interested in golf. Phil can put in a good performance every now and then, but doesn't have the consistency anymore. Never was great in that category to begin with. He might entertain another time or two at a major though.

/End golf state of the union.

*Small rant*

You just said it doesn't have parity and then explained why it has ;)

Sometimes there's parity because no one's very good(basically women's tennis the last few years), but right now in golf there's parity because there are so many good players making it hard to win tournaments. I couldn't single out two players as elite and over the rest right now, bookies can't either. That's parity.

I'm not sure it's the ideal course tee to green for Norén, but he's got the shots and putting. The Open is where I see his biggest chances at a major. But I'll root for him.

Fair enough I just liked his odds and how he’s been playing this year.

Who are you liking?

By the way anyone doing a Milly maker contest up on draft kings?

Oh how I would love to see those 2 in the final pairing Sunday.

I couldn't single out two players as elite and over the rest right now, bookies can't either. That's parity.

Just because there are notables means there's parity? I could name guys like Nishikori or Raonic from Men's tennis, it doesn't mean there was parity in that sport. And tennis might not be the greatest comparison because it's easier for the top players to win than in golf, but in the biggest events, there isn't much parity, as the stat I mentioned said. It's not that there's none. There always will be (to some extent), but when two guys who were 7 and 3 when the statistic started show up third and fourth on the list, I wouldn't consider that parity.

Golf is one of those sports where everyone plays different schedules, so its forced that you will get a lot of different winners, it feeds into the narrative that so many people can win. Take a look at the world rank though of players who've recently won a major. Not everyone shows up with a chance. Maybe there's parity in the tour events, especially because not everyone plays the same schedule, but not in the majors. Bookies is meaningless. Popularity plays a huge role. Fowler gets better odds than better players because he wears orange jump suits. I'm a fan of Tiger but when the guy is a top 10 favorite going into the Masters the last two years prior to when he WD'ed, this coming at a time where he admitted he had no chance to play, there's another example of why odds don't actually matter towards who can win.
