Not sure if I should have bothered, but I added Colton White. I think there's really no need to add more from this point out though.

Personally for me, it will go:

Bernard

then Gignac

then one of Sharangovich/Maltsev.

I think Sharangovich and Maltsev are very close. Sharangovich has the benefit of playing for a weaker KHL team versus Maltsev who has to fight a lot of good players for KHL playing time. I would probably pick Maltsev though.

What makes you confident about X BERNARD? Genuinely curious since I haven’t seen him play.

To me he has the best shot at being an NHL regular of the second tier dmen. He is more complete than a lot of guys and has fewer questions about his game. Good skater, solid edge work and overall agressiveness.

Not that he’ll be a world beater but I think he can carve out a career as a bottom pair guy that does a lot well and nothing really poorly. He also stood out at Dev camp for what it’s worth. I thought he looked most NHL ready.

Thanks for the thoughts. Hopefully he can claw his way to a steady second pair guy. The team could use a bigger defender with all the smaller shifty guys on the way up.

Sharangovich has the much bigger advantage of being under contract right now, when Maltsev isn’t and we don’t know if he ever will.

Unkess Maltsev gets to the point that he is a shoo in for a top 9 spot I can’t see NJ making any promises to him to entice him to sign. Sharangovich seemed happy to go to the AHL. I’m guessing that wouldn’t interest Maltsev.
