Interesting that Mascherin was not signed, re-entered the draft, was drafted with a 3rd and then signed before he played another game (I think?).

Is this a clear cut signal that FLA squandered an asset? Surely there must have been some demand for him if someone was willing to use a 3rd and sign him right away?

I suppose no interested parties may have wanted to spare the contract space at the time, but only in July the opportunity presented itself?
